thanks for the post, let them know they ahve more pulling for his recovery. Like one of them said, it wasn't fatal if he's still alive.

Scary. I just went through exactly his injuries (perforated lung, broken collarbone, four broken ribs) in early July.

I did not, however, have the brain swelling which is really, really scary.

My thoughts are definitely with him and his family.

The brain thing is the critical factor. The rest hurts like hell but nature and time will heal it.

I'm posting this with a very heavy heart.
Our big yearly gatherings over at the ZRXOA usually occur at Suches, GA with rides to the Gap and almost every time they coincide with the Bikeland Gap rallies. Our smaller close knit group(like the smackhouse crew) meets at Road America for the AMA weekend. Shannon's parents set up a tent at the top of the hill in turn 7. One year, in the pouring rain, we're under the tent grumbling about the weather when from behind, Shannon yells out in this over the top redneck voice "Hey Y'all, watch this!" We turn to look and see him running wfo in full yellow rain gear towards us. Last second he does a big belly flop and slides all the way to the bottom of the hill. We were roaring. Next thing theres about 6-8 of us doing big waterslides for the next half hour. That's the kind of guy he is, always making the best out of things. I'll never forget it.

"Shannon had a sever stroke on Wednesday. From what the doctors said, it is improbable that he will live through the weekend. Due to complications from that stroke as well as what the Dr.'s told his family, Shannon's family is letting him go off the life support."

I just spoke with Nancy. She said it's over. All life support, except for a respirator, has been removed from Shannon. All that's left is for Mother Nature to take her course, and for God to take Shannon home. He is not expected to live much longer.
