URGENT! Proper cold tire pressure?
Hey guys, I'm getting ready to take off on a nice 5 day trip down to Roanoke VA through Skyline drive. I'm changing the oil as we speak, but I also want to make sure that my tires are inflated enough. I've got a 190 in the rear, and I'll be carrying a passenger. What cold PSI should I shoot for? I Think they are around 34 pst (front and rear) cold now.... seems a bit low...

I would put 40 in front and 41 in rear with passenger...Dont forget to turn up the compression and rebound a couple on the rear shock!!!

enjoy skyline drive, don't let the LEOs bite
(i couldn't stand it a few years back because the ridiculous speed limit and old-people driving so slowly you'd think that they thought geting home late meant they wouldn't die as soon....)

Tire inflation is dependant on tire brand and model. You need to refer to the tire manufacturer's website for correct pressures.

Go to the recommended 41 PSI both front and back. If the passanger is heavy I would go to 43PSI back.

LOL - she's light, probably 105? maybe 110? I'm 200... I'm going 41 both. God, my tires were down to 32 psi cold!!! I was wondering why it was so rough in the suspension. I've gotta check my pressure more often.

32 cold is rough? when I bump mine up for highway stints it seems rough to me....I generally run a few pouinds lower than the tire recommendations, I rather have tracktion when I need it, than get a few more miles out of it....but the best advice out there has already been given....

I'm thinking maybe the tires were still warm last night when I checked em. That would splain it.

could be.......air them up and try it again while cold.......
If they lose air again.....take the wheel off the bike, and submerge it in a tub and see if it bubbles......I would inflate the tire up to about 55 or 60 PSI beforee submergeing it......
