Why is the 12 so heavy
I have my 12 disassembled and ready to go the the chrome plating shop and I noticed the engine is extremely heavy. I have helped many others remove their engines from bikes like the R1, and GSXR 1000 and those engines can be moved easily by one person. But you may loose a testicle trying to move the 12 engine. What makes it so much more heavier. Or does 200cc add that much weight.
The frame isn't that heavy at all. \
And does anyone have any suggestions on shipping a frame.

Easilly put more torque = more iron everywhere, especially transmission. And that equals more aluminium to the cases...

BINGO! We have a winner. Forged Steel Cranks are heavy and for 2002, they put even more weight in them!

The wieght off the flywheel wont make that much of a difference. But it will weaken it. Also if its not done right you may end up with an engine vibration, those fly wheels are balanced. Just something to think about. Peace out.

Lighter flywheel effects the rideability at low rpms, the idle will have to be raised to keep it running, just imagine what that's like sitting in traffic with the engine idling at 2000 rpms.
