Fast anniversary...
...actually, I bought this 00' one year ago today...went on a ride with my buddies...ddpete3, JATO, Recon, and Mikey
...beautiful mild weather...clear blue skies...open roads...
it was awesome...until...I saw spec of chord on the center of my rear 207s...and we still had at least 100 miles to go and more twisties...maybe a cruise to downtown San Diego...
DOH!...I have at least 250+ miles on the shoulders, but the centers won't let me get there...typical, ya' gotta hit a lot of straights to get to the twisties...WHO MAKES A TIRE THAT'LL GET US TO THE TWISTIES WITH DECENT WEAR IN THE CENTER?...still, I covered 300 miles today...I'm thinking about going to the BT-010s...my friends at CYCLEGAER had a 190 rear/120 front set for $189, but I want a 200 rear...I think I read somewhere here that the 190 is the way to go, better turn-in...since I'm not as talented as you kneedraggers, I think I'm better off with a 200...opinions?...one year later and at 15,000 miles, my bike has been trouble free so far...this IS an awesome bike, no?

Tires threads and articles
Here's a few threads and an article that might help. There are others on this forum, but I'm just too damn lazy to look them up. Hope this helps.

Thanks RED!
...Thanks RED!...looks like I'll be going with the BT-010s
...and since I'm a no-talent-no-kneedraggin'-trail-braking-scardey-cat, I'll stick to the 200s (not much of a price difference if any between the 180/190/200)...thanks again...it was a long read, but well worth it...
and hey ddpete3 w/only 600 mles on his bike...I did tech inspect my bike...the steel spec wasn't there when I rode and cleaned the bike last week...I knew the wear bars were at the surface, though, but I gambled for one more ride and I didn't realize that it'd show steel like that so soon...that road where you and JATO launched yourselves IS pretty abrasive, though...maybe that's what did it...so the lesson is, "wear bars + abrasive roads = get new tires yesterday"...anyway, new shoes for my baby next week! woohoo!!!!

22348bCVC...Same thing happened to me but I didn't see the cords till I got home and started cleaning.
I was out on an easy ride with 2 of my buddies. They both did smoky burnouts and I came home with the cords showing...that figures.
I think the Dunlops rubber is pretty thin in the middle of the tire. I didn't think it would show through as fast as it did. -ZXtra
