Whats up with your time , mph an hp ? Iam running a stock engine other than a hindle pipe an k@n filters an some dyno tunning = 178 hp . My best time last weekend was 9.34 @ 146.899 mph , 178 rwhp. I guess I wont be looking at a lockup clutch if theres problems , I was thinking about it . Happyness is a .001 an a horny bit ch back in the pits . Later Don

Common occurance. As far as I know, 2 things cause it. #1 pulling in the clutch at High Speed! Remember it is NOT the engine RPM as much as it is speed! Stack height causing the puller to only have the edge of the shaft to pull on! A higher stack will allow the shaft to get behind the puller for more strength!

If you have 11 frictions and 10 2.0 steels, take out 1 2.0 steel and replace it with 2 1.6s...

Maybe you should try 12 frictions and 11 1.6 steels and the OEM 1881 clutch springs...Or try the OEM clutch springs from the 2000 they are even softer...When you put the lockup in you need to have softer springs for less pressure, because thats the job of the lockup!!!

Hope that helps...

Don, the air is different at higher elevations...

Agreed about the springs specially! and at least do the 2 "1.6 vs the 2.0"
