New Piston Pin Puller! (Pics)

When I pulled out my Piston Pin Puller that I had bought in the Early 70's I had a problem! The hole was too small. I thought about turning out a .125 then a new tool. Kawasaki wants over $400 for their tool (Which is over $225 dealer) and knew I had to do something. I went to a company called "Starting Line Products" in Iowa and got this tool for $39.95 After a little work with my Hack Saw and a File, here is what I now have.

The problem is the puller will press on the ring land.

Thanks "Again" To Bergie and his web site
http://www.dontbescaredracing.com/for helping me post these pictures

Hell Vincent, many pistons have been removed with nothing more than a punch and hammer. This technique gets you a new set of rods to go with those new pistons! ROFLOL.

Actually I use a 3/8 inch extension and a Plastic Face hammer to keep from damaging the Extension

Here they are Mike! They are into Snowmobiles.

My Old one looks just like this but has 2 threaded "T" Handles for very small pins.

Are they really that tight? I used to push the pins of my 88 ZX10 with my thumb. Sometimes, needed a little coaxing with a socket.

Sometimes you can just push them out, but when you cant, you do not want to do anything we have listed above. On the 2 stroke roller cranks and Old Z-1 Cranks, they could take a little abuse, but do you really want to knock out the pin with a Hammer?

If you need that tool to take them out, I hope you're not putting them back in.

"NOPE"! Only one wrist Pin was stubborn, the one you are looking at! A little clean up of the Small end and a special set of Pistons and Pins for the heavy load of NOS I plan to try!

My theory is, if you have everything you need, you will usually not need it!
