What Happened at Maxton! ZX12R Rules!

Quoted directly from Keith Turk below

"There were two guys running fast besides Scott and Rich... they were both named Owens...

Jim Owens has that Green Nitrous bike.. that hauls butt... I think he went just over 218... from like Michigan or something.

Dave Owens owned a High performance shop in Massachusetts..( I don't care how they spell it...) Dave's Buza was an ALL motor bike... no nitrous no turbo... and he went 211mph... and got in the two club.. Awesome runs.. and he was truly enjoying the whole gig...

It was great to see these two guys going at it... very cool stuff...

K"

SO the Fastest NOS Bike at Maxton is now a "Kawasaki ZX12R" a 2000 model that is of course the faster Green one!

I think I own the only STOCK 2000 zx12r in existence. I haven't even trimmed my fender.

It fits my body frame and it is fast and goes around turns. All I really need.

If you want to see what your bike USED to look like, let me know and I'll send you pictures.

DDPete, I know what you mean. Jim's bike looks more stock than most. The chain guard was because of the rules and the rear fender was only cut below the tag. and the raised shield to cover his head!

I have not been back! I "Hope" to be ready by the May event. I have no plans to ever run below 200 again (Except the warm up run to check things out. My work is called Project 220! Does that tell you anything? I now realized that to go 200 I needed to have a bike that would go 205. To go 210 to 215, I need enough to reach 220.

With all of my money being spent on my Mother's estate, Court there, Court here and regular bills, this leaves "VERY LITTLE" left to go into my bike. To make this next run will cost about $3,000. (500+ pistons, 500- for controller, 500 got 5 pound bottle and heat blanket. 500 for springs, studs and gaskets, 500 for new rear tire, membership, entry fees and hotel and travel bills and the last 500 covers fuel, break in and Dyno test and tune time and anything I left out. If I do not get finished, it will only be a case of too little money. I keep hoping that the House gets a contract in Toledo (200,000 I get 50% after deductions) which will stop my spending of money there and give some back!
