that is cool, 270hp and faster than this years highlander 0-60. My mom has an '03 (obviously gasoline powered) awd highlander limited and it's pretty pimpy, gets about 21mpg. It would be interested in a hybrid version of this vehicle for two reasons, the mileage and the fact that you can drive in HOV lanes without restrictions even if you're alone.

well, I changed my intake filter, and remove my large resonator at the end of the exhaust system. It leaned out the overly rich system. I can get about 280 in the city, with stop and go traffic. The large problem is keeping your foot out of the gas tank. The power of this suv is crazy. I had installed a freeier flowing exhaust, but lost tq and gained more top end, even the redline changed a few rpm. I didn't like the noise at 2k rpm cruise speed, so I reinstalled my stock muffler, and the tq is back.......
There isn't any real highways to travel and see how the milage, but I will find out real soon

that was what the sticker said, I since have changed some thing on the truck. As long as I am not kicking in the passing gear, it does pretty good. It comes with 3:42 gears and a 4 speed transmission @ 70 mph the rpm is only 2k rpm

Damn.....
According to those reviews it's an overpriced piece of unreliable shit.
But I must admit that Otis has a Trailblazer and I really like it. Lots of room for its' size and a really smooth ride. I don't think he's had any problems with it, he must have got one of the "good ones".

Yeah, I read those reviews, they sound pretty serious. I have an 04 LT 2 whl drive. Awsome power, I am not sure about the handling. I switched from an Extreme S10. It is taking some getting use to just driving the SUV.
I have had mine for about 3 months, with no problems. I will be mounting 22 this weekend. There are other reviews out there, like edmonds.com. I am thinking they bought the first batches, If you notice the price they paid, they didn't buy it new and majority of the problems occured with the 4x4 units. I don't know, but hopefull I won't have any problems.

The only problem I've had with mine is the rear turnsignals have blown out on me twice. Not a big deal just put new one's in myself but I shouldn't have to.

i like it. so far all the maufacturers have just concentrated on sticking this technology in subcompacts, assumably vying for the "host efficient vehicle" crown. but this seems a far more intelligent business decision. as is so well demonstarted by much of the members here, most people are not willing to give up their big roomy cars and trucks (yet). do give them their big vehicles AND make them more environmentally responsible. given the price of gas these days and the amount of gas that SUVs and the like drink, this seems a much more sensible and attractive target for hybrid tech. u'r not taking anything away from the consumers, and reducing environmental impact. i dont see a losing side there!
well, except that they'll prolyl charge an extra $10,000 for the hybrid option, meaning u'd have to drive it for 10 years to get ur investment back :\ looked at the prius the other day. would LOVE to buy one, but SHIT do they want alot of money for a little POS car.
