You're seriously bragging about a VMAX on the 14 side of the board?

If this were the 9/10ths you'd get paired up with the 636s....and you'd probably get rocked!

Speed limited to 135mph? Wow....I went 144 mph on GPS on a 1992 CBR 600 F2 with bodywork cracked, taped, and flapping in the wind.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Vmax!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well guy i got a chance to ride a new Vmax today ...I'll skip the details on how i got that ride but i'll tell you what i think ..

First off the bike is HUGE .. Low speed it a tank to ride but at speed it feels a lot lighter than it really is ... This bike has ABS brakes , i didn't push them that hard to find out how well they work but normal stopping felt good ..Seating is very up right and handle bars are way up there much like Ape hangers ..The bike has a very cool shift light and they placed it in a very good spot ..

Power ......Well it's no zx14 or Busa for sure , it does have good low and mid range power but seems to fall flat above 6000 RPMs ...I'm sure the stock exhaust had the bike capped off pretty bad and an aftermarket will help .. The power reminds me of my old 85 Vmax ...You can feel the 680+ pounds and the motor is working hard to pull it... I hammered it in first and fried the tire and repeated that tire spinning in second gear ..The bike never tried to lift the front end and why would it at 66.9 inch wheel base ..I knew this bike would do great burnouts with 66+ inches of wheel base ... If you get a new Vmax Save your money for tires !!

I have to say i like this bike, fit and finish are very nice ... It's blast to ride on the street and should get a lot of looks on the street ..As far as beating a zx14 or Busa in stock form it's NOT going to happen ..Unless the rider of the busa or zx14 is a total tool or weights 350 pounds .....But still it is a very nicely built bike and looks cool ....You just can't compare it to a Busa or zx14 ... Two different bikes built for two different reasons.. Apples to Oranges ..

If i had money to blow i would own one .....

1/8 mile is all i really give a shit about anyway ( since I don't have a 1/4 mile track to run at) lol. I'm still guessing 6.80's on good air with traction and a decent rider.

If that's the case, it should be a little better than a strong running original max with a pipe.not shabby for a pig. I can't wait to ride one. I'm all about rolling burnouts

YEP that thing is big I was suprised at its size but I like its looks the mechanics at the dealer are freinds of mine they said just about the same things about it lots of power smooth engine great brakes very good handling great for holeshots and burnouts should be good allround muscle bike certainly a better buy than a VROD at about the same money they said yamaha is offering another ECU for off road use only ha ha that will remove all the restrictions and give it full power in all the gears and remove the top speed limiter to give 175+ top speed costs 850.00 also a 4to1 exhaust and air box mod plus a full set of carbon fibre body parts MO MONEY MO MONEY

have fun holding on to that thing at 175 mph lmfao. With no wind protection you're giong to feel like a spinnaker lol. I'm going to guess that It'll probably do more like somewhere in the 150-160 mph range. It seems to be geared pretty low.

A little windscreen does not give you 175 mph aero's. And it sounds like a 200 lb. guy will be lucky to run low 7's in the 1/8th...on a 67" bike. That is really discouraging...even worse than I thought.

I don't have to come there, I don't have anything to prove to the likes of you. Besides, I know I'm superior to you. If you have somethin' to prove, you come out here . . . I forgot, daddy probably has you grounded for buggering the local wildlife.

Don't be mistaken on that one... it is a hell of a lot faster than the old one. The gen 1 will only run 11.30's with a good rider in bone stock trim.

I found another post by the 'Max owner:

" I fully understand. Its 6 & 0 right now for the idiots that screwed with the VMax . The latest casualty was a gxxr1000 with a kid on it that caught me sleeping. He came up from behind me all hunched over his bike and race ready.. As he passed me I was in 3rd gear and he wasn't, so I dropped to second (instead of first) and it kinda bogged. Meanwhile his gxxr1000 all pimped out was screaming real loud, and I had to play catch up. He had me by 3 links as I dropped the hammer and tried to stay with him. Max was taking care of business, because I'm old, w/slow relexes and he got the drop on me. I twisted the wrist, knowing Max would never let me down, and he gave me his all. That little guy was quick on the gxxr, but Max started to come on strong. The 3 links he had on me started to disappear, but this was not gonna be easy. Now the urgency was starting to show as I realised this could be my first loss. I tucked behind that windscreen, and said "Come on Max, this should be easy for you. Help me out Max", and he did. I shifted to 4th and the 3 links was still there. All of a sudden it was 2 links, and Max said "we can get him. Just hold on and keep it wide open". I did as Max instructed, and in seconds we were leaving him. Glancing down at the speedo, it was climbing ever so quickly. 120, 125, 130 and finally at 136 in 4th, Max said Buh Bye to the gxxr, and my sorry fat ass was saved by the Black Knight, known only as Bad VMax . Another one bites the dust, inspite of this old mans slows ass reflexes, and his over weight inability to move quick enough, and get the jump on this chump. Now it was Max ahead by 3 links and growing, when a traffic light appeared before us, turnng that menacing yellow, then finally red. I raised both my arms in the air, outstretched in victory, as I slowed to make the red light, no hands on bars. He was too embarrassed to even pull up next to me at the light & quickly got in the left lane & turned. "Whatsa matter? Max got your tounge?" Another 1 bites the dust, that I had wondered if it was salvageable at all. Thanks max, you ROCK! In Max we trust What a phukn RUSH! Adrenalyne to the MAX!

Score so far? 6 and 0, Maximum advantage

Bad_Max (User)"

Draw your own conclusions....

Shane
