looks like i am going to drag my buddy's 05 zx6r, it is stock other than lowering it. i noticed a valve right in front of the muffler that changes with throttle responce. what kinda tricks can i do to this bike? there is a kid with one that runs 10.90 stock and i think TAG he is it!

My friends 05 R1 has the same valve in the exhaust. I think it places backpressure in the exhaust to give better lowend responce. I could be wrong though.

Well i know very little about the 6s .... I do now about the valve because it's like the one on my old zx10 ... Must people remove it or unhook it for drag racing ...there is a guy with a 636 that runs out of Jacksonville or Orlando FL that run 9.80s on a stock motored 636 , extended, slammed and NO spray ...Smokin..

because the i respect most everybody's opinion on the zx14 site, as far as i know every thing has been facts, not some kid that maybe has sawed the muffler off and now it flies. but you are correct, i did start typing on the 6r site, but cancelled that, then started to pm smokin just because i knew you would give me a hard time, but, i said wtf.

i can't straightlike drag you, but I'd be happy to put my 600RR with anything you'd like to bring to a race track for the fun of it- and we do have fun!

I use to own an 06 636 and you can do one of two things. You can remove the butterfly in the exhaust, but you will have to trick the servo motor into thinking it is still hooked up, by making a stopper to go on top of the servo motor, this way your FI light wont come on. Or you can use a resistor or a paper clip on the wiring for the servo motor to keep the butterfly wide open all the time. Either way its a minimal difference, you wont be able to feel a difference but you might gain a hp or two. I think there is a detailed description on how to bypass the wiring on another forum but i cant remember where. I couldn;t feel a difference but maybe you can.

I'm moving this to the 6R section where it belongs.
