Opinions

I know I'm asking the converted here, but I'm seriously thinking of getting a Concours in the near future..

Anything you all don't like about it!

My old bones need some better comfort that my current ride provides, but I'm a little concerned about handleing/cornering as this would be a couple hundred pounds heavier than my Multistrada..

Thoughts folks...

Thanks

Handeling is perfect, cornering is easy also, depends on tires though. Fuel economy is ok, 37-45 mpg. To make it more comfy you will need to get bigger windshield. My opinion is - C14 is very good touring bike. If you want even better bike - get BMW, but it will cost around $24000 fully loaded.

I agree, but I don't believe the BMW has anything on this Connie. This is my 3rd C14...it's got more power, brakes and handling than anything in its class. Ride comfort is unparalleled IMO. Scarping plastics is a no brainer on this bike with the utmost of confidence. If it's pure sport touring you want from a bike, this is the bike to get. This is how it handles in turns -

The C14 will out handle most sport bikes and flat outrun most, in comfort. Probably one of the most perfect motorcycles. Dead smooth, no shaft jacking, fantastic brakes, sport bike handling.
The BMW is a good bike but not even close to being better. Not as smooth, not as good handling, not as good in many things. There is nothing a BMW has that can't be had for a few bucks. There are many things the BMW can't do as well as the C14 without spending big bucks on top of the base price.

Thanks fella's,

I took one for a short ride yesterday and was quite pleased.

Yeah it's heavier than my current ride, but that's not the end of the world, and as you've said, which is on par with what I\ve read elsewhere, handling's not an issue.

Local dealer has some '08s at what seems to be very good pricing so I'll see how the sale of the current ride goes... if it sells I know what to get...

It's also a great 2 passenger performance bike..turns right down to the pegs. This is one of many pics my Mrs. takes while riding in Northern CA.

Now just get used to the Bridgestone tires, then trash them and get a set of Michelin PR2s and you will again have a whole new bike that handles far better.

By the time I get back I expect to have worn them out, bike has 2800kms on it now and will approach 8000kms when I'm back.

The 021's are that bad are they, can you share in what manner.

No matter how it is, I'll look toward improvements then with the next set..

They absolutely fucking suck. Cupping on the front, horrible traction and handling as well as fast wear and once they do, the bikes handling is not what you'd expect. PR2's are your best bet, beyond a doubt!

BT021

Yur right about the 021's..

At 5000 kms the front is toast. worn to the wear bars on the sides and cupping badly. The rear has lots of life yet, but out they are going.

I'm in Redding right now, and going to put a few more miles on them tomorrow and then saturday a set of PR2's are going on thanks to Lee's Honda/Kawasaki/Polaris in Redding.

I'm then heading home Saturday afternoon and Sunday..

Another day after that picture was taken and they were well and truly shot.

So far PR2's are excellent.
