Bought the AreaP full system and PCV...check out the Dyno charts on the site. Big fat gains! This one pulls harder than all the others I've had as well. TedG thinks they may have changed the mapping -- I agree. While it's no ZX, it does pull noticeably harder than the previous C's I've had. I'll try and call you tonight Lyle. Everyone (Me - LOL) is happy out this way. Going riding today on the ZX monster!

Testing the Connie or the ZX? Both are wonderful machines in their own right. I have a tough time trying to decide which one to get on every time I walk into my garage. The ZX is just a fucking monster and the Connie is the smoothest ride I've ever had. The Connie rides like a dream...and would be even more interesting with a 300 HP T/C on it. It needs much more power to get my dick hard like the ZX does

They do hit 150 on the dyno with a few bolt on's, like pipes and PCIII. These things make 160 from factory at the crank...and with the newer full system and PCV with Jamie's map, they're getting between 160-170 at the soft limiter. The charts are on the sites to back it up. They are faster than the old Vmax's all around. Gadson ran a 10.8 on one.

vmax's are good for beating up on 600's in the 1/8th mile. They're capable of low 7's stock and high 6's with a pipe and jetkit. But that's about it lol. That's kind of why i'm in no hurry to put the time and money into the one that I have sitting out in my garage right now.

Speaking of charts...

Steve...you of all people should know you can't get a 20% increase in peak HP at the rear wheel from a bolt-on exhaust and Power Commander. 12 to 14% is about all you can expect. FuelMoto claims to have tuned the bike from stock of 135 to 160+ peak. That's a whopping 25HP!

But one of his customers has already checked his numbers. He took the bike to an independent tuner and dyno'd the beast. He got 12% (16 hp)....not 25 hp. 16 is very respectable. 18 would have been surprising. 20 outlandish. But a 25 hp gain at the rear wheel ...on a C14...with nothing more than a full exhaust, a BMC, a PC5 and flyectomy? It's just not credible.

You can see Tom McCoy's (user: Anubis) graph for yourself here:

well mr nightmare i have a zx12r that went from 162 at the rear stock in may air to 186 average in the same air with a muzzy ti system and me tuneing the ecu with a 2.5 advance. i will not do the math for you cause i dislike naysayers when i say i did xxx well i did it no bullshit involved.that is why i usually do not say what my bike dynoes sae numbers (the lower ones) so do not flame the area p guys cause i am thinking they did not inflate the numbers. there is a lot that can happen from the stock run to a bug weather change to the modded pull. doing the math it is like 16% but it was 24hp total. i guess my number % is f uped being higher to start. (dam math)

I noticed Tapered head pipes on the new Connie exhaust, like my Muzzy M14 that beat the Brocks on Gilbetjj vs Sticks&Stones
Muzzy vs Brocks dyno post. It sure got quiet when the dyno #s were posted and Muzzy won.

That really depends on badly the manufacturer has choked the exhaust (badly in this case). True that you can't see those types of gains for the most part, but in today's world of technology, it is possible to see much higher gains with those types of bolt on's than in the past. The C14 is seriously choked from Kawi. I'm sure there's more power in that exhaust and PCV than on most bikes. 25 HP, perhaps not, but we'll see when the exhaust is delivered over the next few days. I'd normally expect around 15-18 (throughout the higher usable end of the range).

Now, go and reread the posts on AreaP's site -- it said a "35 HP gain at the soft limiter"...which is @9900 RPM and if you look at the chart above, it's very close to that, AT THE SOFT LIMITER.

I've read AreaP's website extensively.

AreaP never made this claim (25 hp peak)...FuelMoto made that claim. But if you read the AreaP website they "repeat" this exagerated non-sense.

You are precisely right. 15 to 18 is well within the realm of reality. I gained 17 with my dual setup. Many others have snagged 14 to 18...so that is believeable.

25!??? 25 peak horsepower gain is ....is...well...it's a "PIPE DREAM"...........literally.

Thanks for the tempered response.

Does the C14 have the same cams and top end as the ZX-14? Drive Shaft power
loss vs chain at rear wheel? I really like the 2008 Silver C-14 to tour with and just
lower the ZX and ride the C every day.

Hell Brock claimed close to 30 if I remember right with his pipe on the 06 14. Its business.....big numbers sell pipes, and pipes make money. Business is about money.....so big numbers are needed to counter other companies big numbers to make the money. Makes perfect sense to me
Anybody who thinks pipe makers numbers are going to be close to real world numbers needs to come back down from Iwannabelieveinfantasyland
