I have these on my ZX -- huge difference in the ride comfort and handling...I may add these to the Connie too...these bikes are really setup for 150 lb riders and even adjusting the susp doesn't work that well.

I haven't had any issue with the stock suspension in the handling department. I ride on bumpy technical roads and can hang with anyone. I found that cranking up the rebound dampening had the largest impact, especially in the rear. I have the screw turned out about .75 turn from full closed on the rear rebound. I've messed around with it and found that even at 1 turn out the handling starts getting bad. Stock setup is 1.25 tuns out if I remember right. The rear is planted on even the bumpiest roads. I also increased the preload by a large margin on the front for better braking. I think I have just over 2 lines showing on the front preload adjustment and about 4 clicks increase in the rear (15 to 16 clicks from all the way out). I weight about 210. Only downside is that the ride can be a little harsh sometimes. Would be nice to have a more progressive suspension for better comfort.

Nathan, that's just what the Ohlins does for you...it's a firm ride, but not harsh. It brings a whole new meaning to the term "handling". You would not believe how my ZX14 handles now with the Ohlins, and that's with a 6" stretch. It corners far better than stock length with the stock suspension. It really freaked me out the 1st time I pushed her down hard...and no wiggle/or wobble when you push hard. I'm seriously considering doing the rear and front springs/ valve stacks on the Connie. It will end up with the rigidity of a super sport bike...but will be smooth, not harsh.

I agree with FBA about the Ohlins, damping is truly the ticket and few on this earth do a better job than Ohlins. BUT one could come very close with a set of Race Tech Gold valves front and rear for far less money. And they will dial it in for you knowing your riding style and weight. I have done a few sets and it was well worth it. Although I think is is better to let them do the rears because of the nitrogen etc. I just wait until I need a set of fork seals then I do the fronts.
