Storage lid on tank

Am I the only one having trouble with the tank storage compartment lid? I have trimmed down the plastic catches and put greese on the catches and I still have to push the open latch and pull the hinge end towards me to get it to open. I keep a garage opener in the compartment but can't open the garage door unless I put it in nutral.
How can I out run the police if I can't get the garage door open. :-)

I had the same problem after removing the storage box and I found that if you loosen the screws that hold the box down and move it until it opens ok. I also have a garage remote but I used velcro to attach it to the underside of the black plastic between the storage box and the outer trim. You will have to extend the remote switch from the opener to a push on miniture switch which I secured to the black plastic strip and my remote operates up to 80 meters from the garage door.

I too had trouble with that lid. One of the prongs that help keep it closed broke off and I was able to get it fixed under warranty, the new one is only slightly improved. You just have to be gentle in opening and closing.

Had a problem with mine after first week. At least they did order me a new one under warranty. These arent very sturdy for the amount of use they will be getting. Got a feeling I will be buying several of these over the years.
