If Kawasaki was listening...
If Kawasaki was reading this post and listening to it's riders what advice or improvements would you suggest about your Concours14? Nothing major that's going to jack up the price significantly but minor things. Here's a few of mine:
1) Make the keyfob as small as possible and make it so it can be attached to a key ring. ring.
2) Do away with the tire pressure sensor system and use that cost savings for a cruise control.
3) Make some attachment points so we can strap something to the rear rack.
4) You need color choices
5) I'm not sure if it's the seat that sucks or my butt. I do know that my butt will travel farther on my ZX10r without getting sore then on the Concour. And this is unacceptable!!

Pardon me for my comments on your comments. Just seemed the quickest way to say what I wanted.

Don't care, carry mine in the opposite pocket from my keys.
2) Do away with the tire pressure sensor system and use that cost savings for a cruise control.
Please don't do away with the TPS! It could save my ass!
A cruise cntl would be a great option.
3) Make some attachment points so we can strap something to the rear rack.
That would be nice!
4) You need color choices
Actually I like silver, but others do need more choice.
5) I'm not sure if it's the seat that sucks or my butt. I do know that my butt will travel farther on my ZX10r without getting sore then on the Concour. And this is unacceptable!!
Too many different butts to make one seat work for all. Some actually like the stocker.
6) auto cancelling turn signals
7) one or two more inches of travel on the windshield adjustment.

I think the fob should have something to accomidate a keyring so you could use it if you wanted to.
The TPS is a great feature, leave it alone.
The rear rack could use some attachment points.
Colors, I have a silver one, and plan to keep it for a while unless they upgrade dramatically so I am not too worried.
The reason the seat probably feels worse here than your 10 is because of the upright seating position putting far more weight on your butt.
So my list looks like this and in this order.
One or two inches of windshield travel.
Cruise control
Heated grips.
Fob needs a way to hook on keyring.
Attachment points for rear rack.
Compression damping adjustment for the front forks.
The pie in the sky list:
Another 1000 rpm
More top end power.
Suggestions for better sales and keep the magazines happy
Get rid of Bridgestones
More colors.

Ok Kawi, here is my list...
1: make it lighter, 100 lbs would do (I will even take 50).
2: make it about 1" lower seat height
3: Put the zx-14 motor in it with no flies!!!!!!!!!!!!
4: Taller windhield
5: Throw in a radio
6: cruise control
7: side bag holders that double as tie downs
8: a stock exhaust that actually looks good and sounds good.
I wouldn't want a color change, the silver is great, shows little dirt/dust.
I could dream up other things, but I gotta get to bed..

Amen to the weight loss! Make it less bulky, while you're at it, please. Then, confirm the engine heat problem is no more (For anyone.), and I'm ready to buy. I don't think that's asking for the moon.

Oncourse your list is almost exactly the same as mine! The exceptions are the lower seat height and the radio, but the rest are my wishes too. I would also add to reduce the radiant heat in the thigh area and a flatter seat (without that forward slant) and the C14 would be the perfect bike!

The seat height is an issue for me, I am not flat footing this thing, and if I dare ride someone on it I better be..
The radio is just a bonus, ok, sattelite radio with mp3 player !!
The heat issue is a must on hot days, need an electronic sensor to adjust for ambient temp so you stay warm when you need it and cool when you need it as well..

Guys how could you possibly loose 50 or more lbs on this bike? Ain’t happenin! Besides like I just said in another thread, this thing feels like it looses 100 lbs as soon as it gets rolling. Even more so with good tires on it.

The real question is how did it gain almost 150 lbs over the ZX14? I understand some beefing up in areas and some additional equipment (ABS, etc.) but I had mine weighed and it weighed 700 lbs fully fueled and without me on it! I could see an additional 50-70 lbs over the ZX14 but not this much.

You weighed the c-14 at 700 lbs wet and full.
Is this 150 over a weighed zx-14 in the same configuration? I’d think it might weigh in well over 550, but I don’t know. And if so I have no idea where they put that extra 150 lbs except to add the shaft drive to what you’ve already mentioned.
