BMC Air filters
Went looking for a new air filter for the C14, 20000 miles is way to long for the stock paper filter. And found that the C14 and the ZX14 share the same filter. So I ordered the BMC Standard filter. I have a BMC in my ZX10 and the initial quality seemed very good. Anyone tried this filter?

At the same time you remove the flies you should install it, that way you can get 'em both done and grin

The more I think about the fly thing the less I like any of the options. I am a electronic/software engineer. I have made literally hundreds of hardware related embedded systems. So many in fact that most likely everyone here has used something I invented/developed.
Removing the flies and a PC is OK. A TRE and a PC would be OK except for the gear indicator.
I am thinking the best route for me is to build a hardware(electronic) interface that will:
1. Intercept the signals to the stepper motor.
2. Mimic the secondary throttle position sensor.
3. Actually reposition the flies.
4. Tell the ECU the to richen the mixture (at the proper time of course) by telling the ECU it is at a lower altitude.
5. Be plug and play.
I am in no hurry to do the flies, I fuckin hate the PC (not so much the PC but their service). There are tons of proto boards with processors out there that can handle the I/O required. I have or can make the equipment to snoop and log what the ECU needs to see so it thinks things are perfectly normal. And it is not that big of a deal to figure out where it needs to be richened up and mess with the barometric sensor input.
And finally I have a bit more time to work on things, and I need a good project.

Shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits. They sent me the wrong air filter. Tore all the plastic off just to find they sent the wrong one. While I was in there I decided to check the exhaust nuts. 1&2 were finger tight, 3 had fallen off and 4 was snug. Tighten those nuts.

Ted, what about nuts 5, 6, 7 and 8? Unless i'm thinking about the wrong nuts....
I did my own 600 mile break in check-up and all 8 nuts on my exhaust were pretty tight, I couldn't move them much. I checked all the bolts and nuts the service manual says should be checked and they were all tight and torqued. Guess I was lucky....
That sucks about the air filter.

I think he was talking about cyl numbers, unless you have a 8 cyl concours, nahhhh be way to heavy. Bike is heavy enough and am still working on slow speed manuvers, once she is going it's a dream!
Sorry about the air filter Ted, hopefully you at least blew out the old one to make the time worth while...

One more thing, Ted that post above was to entice you, sometimes people need a little kick to get 'em going. I have no doubt that you can pull this off. Just watch that 17/1 fuel mix at around 3500... My ears and eyes await your findings, ok my mind too :-)

I was talking about cyls. And yes I blew out the filter and it actually came pretty clean. So I will send back the other one and get is changed out. As far a my method on the flies I think the first thing I am going to do is put in an oxygen sensor to see how the thing does stock. That should help with the programming later.
