Suggestions for Aftermarket Pipe

I am switching from a ZX14 to the new C-14. One of the first things I want to do is switch out the stock pipe. Any suggestions? I am not looking for it to be loud. I never did like the looks of the stock pipe. I do plan on doing the Power Commander and taking the flies out. I did that on the ZX14 and it made a huge difference.

Thanks in advance,

Dunno, I just love the looks and sound of my 2 bro's carbon, remember this bike will not be loud due to the cat's in the header. Nothing like a sport bike. I am not removing the cats as this thing sounds muffled but mean, kinda like a mustang gt with stock exhaust. Plus I think it is the best looking slipon for this bike.

My 2 cents...

I've read a lot on these forums and I've seen the CEO of Area P respond and help out on some of the tech issues. He sounds like a good dude, plus you can send an Area P in for FREE inspection and repack once you get some miles on if needed. It sounds like they are very serious about customer service! I think that's what I'll get when I do it. They also say that the Area P actually gets somewhat quieter after 1 or 2K miles.

Thanks for the input the Area P combo pack looks like the way to go. I e-mailed Fuelmoto for a price on the complete package - Pipe, Power Commander and Filter. That should do the job just right.

How much difference do you suppose temperature, altitude and humidity makes when using a map created in one area, but used in another? If you're not having an elevation swing of a few thousand feet or so, would it probably be okay?

I do not think temperature is a big factor, as the c-14 has the intake air temp sensor built in. I have no problem riding from 300-1700 ft where I live. Everything should be fine, nobody has complained, just smiling..

The only other thing I can mention about exhaust, is that if you are concerned about heat radiating from the muffler to the bags, or passenger, carbon fiber is the way to go. I can ride 30 miles, get off the bike and put my hand on it and hold it there indefinantly.

If you piped your zx14, and still have the stock pipes the right side will fit the Connie. Ihave both ZX and C and bandsawed off the mid pipe form the ZX and used a D&D I had laying around the shop. Took about 15 min, and made a big improvemant cheap.

talked to a gentleman that had an AP with a carbon canister on his Connie this weekend....the pipe looked fantastic and sounded good. He commented on how much of an improvement it made to the looks of his bike.

Kerry are you all going to do a full exhaust for the C14?
