Tire pressure sensor battery low
Hi!
I did a search on the forum but didn't find an answer to my particular question...if their is one. I've had my C14 for a week and in that time my front TPS battery has been indicating low on and off, and now it's on for good. I've seen in this and other forums that this has been fairly common in the new C14's and I should bring it into the dealer.
My question is, has their been a consensus as to why this is happening? Is it simply a case of defective/cheap batteries or has some other underlying reason such as loose connections or a computer glitch been found?
Thanks!

it seems to be a bad source they got the sensors from, the sensor will get replaced by a new part number..
Maybe mine is right since I may have got the bike later than u, in april, shipped in by the warehouse..Dunno..

Well, I got my service manual and was able to see how they actually work. A defective batch of sensors sounds right.
After seeing the cost of the sensors I think it's safe to say that once the warranty expires and the sensors go bad I won't be replacing them, not unless they come down in price alot or they start making them with replaceable batteries. But that's just me.

you think the sensors are expensive, the side bags are near 1300 bucks a piece! They should have made a sport model with no bags or rack and sold it for msrp 9500, would have sold a lot of them that way...

Well, this is strange. For the past 2 days I have had a tire pressure sensor low battery front warning on the whole time. Now this morning I went for 45 minute ride and the TSP worked fine the whole time, no warnings. Must indeed be a bad sensor.

I have also heard that if they get wet it can cause problems as well.

I had the same intermittent low pressure battery light. The bad part is that the tire has to come off the rim as the battery is built into the valve stem. This is a system I wish Kawasaki would of left off rhe bike.

I did give the bike it's first good washing the day before, but how can it get wet? The sensor is inside the tire.....if water can get in, wouldn't air be able to get out?
I just hope it's not one of those things that keeps getting better every time I take it to the dealer, that could be a problem getting it fixed if I can't show it's not working.
