how do you keep you battery charged?

I was thinking of cutting off a direct 12v adapter (not a cell phone adapter etc) and use the power outlet to trickle the battery, Has anyone done this? I am sure it would work, mind you it is on a 10 amp outlet so use a small charger, but I think it is waaaayyyy easier than removing the cover to the battery.

Make your own charger adapter.....

Wormgear is right--- the power outlet is switched. (Won't work as a charger port).

What I use is the plug that I put on for my heated gear. Hooks directly to the battery.

I never charge it, even after months of non-use and I've never had any issue starting it.

That Batt. has to be $$$$expensive, I wish I could ride all the time, summer is coming soon and then I will. The klr gets 70 mpg, even with all the mods. The c14 gets 42, still better than my little mazda!

I just hooked up my Battery Tender to it. The battery isn't that hard to get to on this bike. I leave the lead where I can get to it without removing anything, but you cannot see it. It is tucked up underneath the plastic near the battery box.
When I pull into the garage, I plug it in. Easy, pretty cheap, and no home engineering required.

When I bought my bike, the battery had died while on the showroom floor. The dealer put in a new one and I haven't had any problems since.

WIldman sounds like he's got a good idea, if you're not able to ride enough to keep it charged.

I put a 12v adapter on my bike, and wired it directly to my battery.

Should be easy enough to back feed it to the bat.

It the stock unit will not allow u to do it. Install another unit.
I wish I had 2 units.

Electric gloves and vest would be nice here in the spring and fall in Ont.
