Sirius Portable Radio
Does anyone here have or know anything about the new Sirius portable radios. I have a Starcom and I think that it would be awesome. I just do not know how the reception would be. Could I just lay it in the map pocket on a tank bag?
Thanks

I'm not sure about the new Sirius portable radio's reception, but my Garmin's XM Radio has an external antenna that requires a clear view of the sky in order to connect with the satellite. It works great on the open road, but in the hills and wooded areas of the Northwest, radio (satellite) reception constantly fades in and out, making it quite annoying. Check the Sirius website for its specifications and mounting requirements.

When I took my trip from Utah to South Florida I used my small Sirius radio. It had a built in FM transmitter so it played through my FM Scala rider headset in the helmet. The radio suctioned cupped to the windshield and the antenna was magnetic so I could mount it just about anywhere. The radio was small enough to fit in my jacket pocket for quick dismounts on stops for fillups. Setup worked awesome.
