Did you have to replace from the complete system to get it to bolt up? I am looking at doing the same thing. How do they fit around the bags and by the shaft drive assembly. Any clearance issues? THANKS!

Good job Steve! A lot of people have been asking for a dual. This one will be quiet, look good and cost much less than an aftermarket.

Yeah I'm going to keep the details on the concours.org post, check there for updates. I figured out how to hang the left side pipe yesterday, just need to decide whether I want to drill and bolt up the mounting adapter or have it welded. Still have to put all the plastic back on too.

Doubt it, it's still a factory system from the 1400 motor. Just a different pipe configuration. Might run a little leaner but I doubt it would be anything to worry about.

I think it looks pretty good. And you did it for your own reason of styling and thatz really all that matters. Not sure I'd want to add the extra weight and heat of another muffler (about 14 lbs). That centerstand/sidestand looks really low. Have you checked left side cornering clearances? Nothing bums you out more than levering off the centerstand/sidestand in a corner.....
You may want to monitor the radiant heat on your bag bottoms. The oem ZX14 mufflers run extremely hot. They retain heat for a very long time even after you shut it down. Not only from the cats located in the front part of the muffler, but also because the stainless outer shell retains heat much longer than aluminum, ti or carbon.

...Kerry....does AreaP have an aftermarket twice-pipes solution in the works?...if you do, I'm hoping it'll be lighter, as quiet and runs cooler, yes?

I have been considering it. It would be lighter than the oem single system, but not by a ton. I don't think it would be quieter though. The thicker wall tubing oem system and cats both help attenuate sound. With aftermarket, we're going thin wall tubing, high flow merge collectors and of course less restrictive/smaller mufflers. So I don't believe it would be as quiet. Though it wouldn't be abusive by any means. Runcooler, - definetly yes.
If we do move forward and design a full system, we would make sure it incorporates our single right side Slip-On currently available. That way anyone who purchased our Slip-On, would be able to utilize it for the right side and save some money by only having to purchase the headpipe assembly and left side mid-pipe/muffler.

....that's cool, KB ...hey a pun!  ...I understand wanting to match the left muffler with the present right-side slip-on, but since the C14 has a more sophisticated look than the ZX14, it'd be nice to have a billet end-cap option (similar in style to OEM C14's end-cap) for a more finished look....I could be wrong, but I'm guessing you'd be able to sell that option with no problem...I know I'd opt for that look if I had a C14 dual
