The weather's cooling off in my neck of the woods.
So yeah, as the title says, it's cooling off in my neck of the woods; which happens to be the Washington DC area.
"Nice," I thought, "time remove the heat deflecting fairing, and start putting the C-14's heat output to some good use!"
right?
NO!!!!
Unfortunately, the two bolts that do such a great job anchoring the heat deflectors on either side of the bike really suck once the deflectors are removed. Not only are they ugly, just hanging out in the air, not even close to being flush with the bike; but the bottom one is too long to anchor the Neutron Silver fairing to the matte black fairing. In other words, it rattles, big time. 
I knew this was going to be the case, but, I guess I was hoping this wouldn't be the case.
Of course, I haven't RTFM (Read The Fucking Manual) yet, in regards to the heat deflectors. That said, has anybody else removed them? Are their any Kawi supplied replacement bolts to mount flush to the bike, and anchor the fairing? Am I missing something?
I re-installed the deflector fairings for the reasons stated above. Still, when it starts to get really cold around here, I'm going to be wishing I had them off!
Thoughts? Advice?

When I took the deflectors off there was a short bolt residing in the foam on the backside of each deflector, to replace the longer bolt. When using the deflector supplied bolt in place of the longer one and the original shorter bolt , everything looks fine. Check the backside of the deflectors for the bolt and if you didn't get them call the dealer!

Mine didn't come with those shorter bolts. Any idea what the part # is for those. I can't find it in the parts fiche?

I have no idea what the part number is. And, as you say, there is no listing on the parts fiche so I would contact the dealer and push the issue with them. Someone in Big K has to know the answer to the part number and why some C14's have them and some don't.

took mine off this morning for the first time. Didn't notice any bolts on the inside of the deflectors but I didn't look either. Also I didn't feel any warmer than I did during the same commute at the same temp (~40degrees) yesterday.

Stopped by the dealer today.
They didn't quite have the exact bolts, but gave me a set that with a few plastic washers worked well.
Total cost.. $1.25, cost of 8 plastic washers from ace hardware.

I finally took a minute to check. No bolts as well. Looks like I'm taking a little trip to my Kawi dealer today.

It turned to winter here a couple of weeks ago, snow and all.
This bike runs way too cool, and my legs are freezing most of the time. I am thinking about making a couple of little doors in the foam (the foam we fixed to block out heat) to allow some heat to get through.
