2008 and this is what we get?
Had the C14 now for 3 weeks. Loading it up today for the first Fall trip to the Smoky Mountains and I'll be darned if it's not a major effort to try to strap something down on the pillion seat/rear platform. There are no good bungee points and it's dang hard to secure something on the rear platform. I'm nervous with my sleeping bag and tent back there (as I can best strap them), and I've packed those on every VFR I've owned since the mid-80's with no problem.
IN ADDITION, I now have a scratch in the PAINT of the support of the rear platform. Geez, it wasn't too long ago those were real metal that you couldn't scratch. At least not like this... Crap!!!
I won't mention the problem I have with the rear wheel pressure sensor after a nail, a tire change that destroyed the pressure sensor, and a "it's ordered directly from Japan. Could be a week, could be several months" problem.
Oh, well... It really is a great bike and I love my riding time more than ever.

C14's have bags and a rear rack; they aren't designed for tie-down points, except for the rack. ZX14's have neither and do have tie-down points, but will scratch the paint if you use 'em. Who changed the tire and destroyed the pressure sensor, the dealer? I don't understand why you're bitchin' about this; it's a well known fact that nails do cause tire problems, as well as failure to heed the instructions when changing tires...so yes, this what YOU get. The rest of us don't seem to have issue with these things --

think he is bitching about the part not being available, not that Kawi should be responsible for the nail or the mechanic breaking the sensor.

On any new bike, it's rare that parts are stocked initially by the dealers, or the manufacturer/importer. Same thing applies to cars, trucks etc...

c14.. I agree with you about the paint... there are lots of surfaces to scratch... right now we're testing a few different paint protecting films and when we figure out which one works best, we'll let you know the part #'s... re: tie down points, I though the c14 had plenty... should be no prob for you to tie stuff to the back rack so I'm not sure how you ran into trouble..
re: tire pressure monitor... that's a drag but I'm sure they'll fix it.. at least you know it works! LOL!
oh.. and dont worry about FBA... he means well...

I agree that the C14 lacks tiedown points for bungees and the like. For some reason all manufacturers of most bikes don't seem to think these are very important. On bikes that come with them most are in places were the paint or plastic will be scratched. The C14 has bags which are great but on most trips they will be filled quickly. More tiedown points would be appreciated. I took the reflectors mounted under the rear rack off, but left the brackets they mount to, (they double as mounting points for the rack hardware itself). These work great for bungees and you don't have to worry about scratching anything.
And were in the heck is the helmet lock. Do I always have to leave room in my saddlebags for my helmet or be stuck with carrying it around? This seems like a cheap little detail that would've made things much more user friendly.

....try this: Instead of using bungees and bungee nets to secure stuff on your bike, take the time to use nylon straps that have fastek male/female buckles (roll your own or buy them ready-made). I've found that the fastek system cinches down and stabilizes your load no matter shape of weight better than any flexible stretchable system. I've used anywhere from 1/2" narrow widths up to the 3" wider widths. I use bungee nets as a 'safety net', sorta like when you use a safety chain after you hitched up your trailer to your car/truck....just in case. Ther are so many different ways to make these fastek straps work for you. You can find these fastek securing straps at Walmart or most any outdoor sporting stores.
...btw...any pics of the Kawasaki top trunk for the C-14?

If you go to www.kawasaki.com/accessories the picture of the connie has the top case mounted but you still can't find it on the site. My dealer says mine is orderd and should be here this week. $149.95 We will see.

$149.95? Damn that's cheap for OEM....I want one!! Does it mount directly onto the mount at the back, or is there some sort of adapter you need with that?
