I have to agree with fish. But I would be willing to bet the dealer unknowingly did worm's.

Well, it happened to me this morning. I reinstalled the bags this morning and in the process noticed the left latch was not FULLY engaged. Thinking of this post that I have been following, I checked to make sure that I fully reset the handle and that the key was in the "unlock" position. After a couple of attempts to lock the bags, the red tab finally moved all the way up to latch. I checked the bag bu pulling up and I noticed that it wobbled a little unlike the right side.
Well, after I hit a bump, it happened, the left bag FELL OFF. Luckily, there were no cars following and the bag rolled to the gutter. I picked up the scratched bag and reinstalled it. Using the SAME procedure I always do. This time, I had to fiddle with the handle more in order for the bag to lock again. I am calling the dealer today to get a replacement. THIS SUCKS.

Well, went to the Kawasaki dealer here and BOTH lead mechanics agreed that the mechanism had failed. The lock does not fully extend and lock into the bike.
They will warranty it. I have a W.O. for the work..

I hope Kawi does a recall and not just wait until someone loses a bag to replace it.

i was coming across the howard franklin bridge tonight pinned and C14 bags where scattered all over! Hope KHI warranty covers this dilemma for all those bikes.

Dealer called me today and told me that they are warrantying the bag and have placed one on order. Now all I have to make sure is that I get the same key. I dont want to carry 2 sets of keys.
