Price released

I got a call from a friend of mine that has a kawasaki shop here in Canada, and he got the notifiction about the 1400 concours. The price is 18,000 for non abs and for abs it is 19,500 Canadian prices. The dealers have to order by May 6 and they said bikes will start arriving in Canada late June. No specs as of today but hopefully in the next week they will get some information like hp and seat height etc.

To help us "translate" here in the US, how much does the ZX-14 cost there? Saw one report from Taiwan last week, and if the math/percentage was done right, that puts it at about 13,300 - ish USD...

Thanks!

Non ABS retail is 17,800 and ABS is 19,100. No bookings yet for this model but should be soon. Still hoping for the end of June. Dont expect much in the way of change from what you saw at the bike show.

As of May 14 the rate of exchange was 0.9036 so based on the quoted $19100 (Canadian) for the ABS model the US price would be approximately $17,258.52 (US). That's a hefty pricetag if it's accurate.

You're right. In my eyes it has gone from FJR competition to BMW K1200GT territory. Actually, maybe they hit right in the middle. Go down a couple three thousand or go up a few. If that price is accurate I'll be on a BMW in '08.

Well Kawasaki still want $24,000 Australian Dollars for the 14 even though the Japanese yen is equal to the Australian dollar as we speak for first time in like 30 years......

Guys...dont bother trying to convert to see what the American price will be. it doesnt work that way. The Japanese determine what price they want to sell bikes for in each country. There are a lot of factors involved in making those decisions. Currency valuations is only 1 factor. You're just gonna have to wait until the dealers can order, thats when they will know the prices.

In the past, Americans could cross the border to Canada and pickup a ZX12R as a reasonable savings due to the exchange rate (at the time). That's no longer the case but I was trying to see the approximate price in US $
