didnt seem like a pig to me in 1979, it was faster than my 1978 XS Eleven, it was bike of the year then, and today is one of Honda's most collectable motorcycles

wee
It is collectible, but it wasn't fast (in comparison even to the GS1000L which was shaft drive).
In the words of my dad and grandpa's shirts back in the day... "I wanna race your 6"

Evidently you weren't racing anywhere that the "east texas mafia" (as named by Jack Wilson of Big "D" Triumph) was back then, because the kings were Billy wayne and Howard "ALKY" sulsar on the 1175 stroker BSA rocket 3.

Yeah them 6cyl Hondas made all the show in the magazines , but they sure as Hell couldn't cut it on the street or strip! Period! I whooped em on a proclaimed slow 1000L in 1981 ,and even did it on my ol ladys 650 L ! Drag raced aginst them on the street ,and at Paris Drag Strip! I even got a chance at Bookers CBX dragbike down Toco road, and my old 1981 1000L still kicked ass! Them CBXs sure looked, and sounded cool though.

We need et's and mph or it didn't happen ............. ____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
