Funny you should say that, I recall a certain race team in the late 90's(98 or 99) increasing the midrange of their race bikes at the cost of a few peak hp to get the bikes off these things called "corners". You might have heard of them since then, Yosh Suzuki, they've won a few of those races since then on those "roadcourse" track things you've obviously never been on. Yes, they have those "corners" and believe it or not you actually have to accelerate off of them. Imagine that, 1% more peak hp isn't everything(except to the squids at Starbucks).
lol that; and don't be so sore about the extra 30-40 pounds of weight your 5 extra peak hp has to shove around. But don't worry, I'm sure Kawasaki will put it on a diet for the next redesign...

I read the Cycle World article, it didn't say anything about the bikes getting "stuck in gear(just like the rest of'em that did the same thing in testing)". All it said was a few times it had hesitation going from 3rd to 4th and they were preproduction models so it will be sorted.

1st I don't even own a CBR1k, but that's not gonna stop me from giving credit where it's obviously due. Your brand loyalty is getting in your way.

Tell you what, when I take care of my girlfriend's medical problem and the economy stabilizes I'm picking up my next bike and you'll be the 1st to know, promise, I'm looking for an old, used, cheap and beat-up 600, looking at the 03-05 R6 around $4000-$5000. We'll get together at JenningsGP in the expert group for a fun day at the track(for me at least). You make sure you start modding your bike, put as much money as you got into that thing, please please please; I'll just continue my work in the gym until then.

Zxadam, if you look back into the posts, you will find the YOU started the name calling. I, my friend will end it. You are not dealing with some squid that just likes to talk shit. I will back up EVERYTHING I say. I pride myself on never letting my mouth write checks my ass can't cash. If I hadn't just sold my 636 I'd have lent it to you with full race garb for no excuses. And, yes I wouldn't run anything less than the expert class, it tends to be safer when your not running up on a 90mph sweeper with 60mph backmarkers. Check with the guys that know & ride with me. You are in for an enlightening day. I hope you're not one of those guys that tout how they can't squeeze the full potential out of a liter bike so they go faster on a 600. Cuz, bro you gonna get a serious lesson. I'll even be willing to put some cash on the line . Fastest lap times? How many laps behind you are by days end? Just a little tip. Don't juice up too much at the gym, you end up getting those forearms all pumped up & it'll feel like concrete, cardio, cardio, cardio. Just don't want no excuses.

One more thing, I never lied about anything. Nor any bogus claims. Just fed Stevewfl the shit he dished out. I'll gladly go toe to toe with you too. I think the CBR is a good bike with some better qualities than the others. But, they aren't the things that do it for me. I'm a big strong guy that rides in the upper stratosphere of the RPM range. My style is loose & I like a bike that hits hard. It suits my style. To each his own. You fuckin Honda nuts just can't understand that.

Just for the record this 636 runs strong enough that while running with one of the track pros he swore it was a 750. He was on an R6. I was riding the 636.

If I could afford to buy your bike(never bet on not crashing, trust me) and take time off work I would take your offer pretty quick, but unfortunately cancer is kinda expensive. Otherwise I'd still have my 954 and my ZX12, both of which I've had to sell leaving me completely bikeless for the 1st time in 25 years. But that's priorities for you, family 1st.
Like I said, and my offer still stands, when I get my next bike you'll be the 1st to know, JenningsGP expert group. I won't have much money but I won't need much as an old R6 is usually cheap and good enough for laps in the high teens, I still have all my track gear(leathers, stands, tire warmers, etc...), and everytime someone brags about how "great" they are they just get in the way.

The guys that have bought one on a CBR1000RR message forum haven't said anything about tranny problems. A local rider recently bought one and he hasn't seen any problems yet. That's all I've seen from actual owners of production models.

Dude, In all honesty. I could care less if the tranny in the cbr falls out & drags on the ground in left hand corners. Get a clue!
