I think both the kawi and honda are unattractive but looking at5 the poor engineering of the turn signals, block mirrors, and front lights on the ZX10 I'm finding it difficult to understand how a kawi fan can call the blade "ugly"

The Kawasaki does look so much better in blue in my opinion...offsets the crosseyed look the green one puts out....of course neither liter bike except the Yamaha looks as good as my 04...give that to ya steve..that is a nice bike...

I bleed as green as anyone on this board, but to me the 08 10R is the most hideous kawasaki ever. I dont have a problem with the styling of the Honda...the exhaust has grown on me and the look of the WSB bike with race pipe is stunning. If early reports are correct, its got the edge in streetability and handling on the Kawi. Looks like Honda's year I'm afraid to say.

Turn signals, mirrors and headlights on the Kawi are just there so they can sell them to the public. The ZX10 was a purpose built motorcycle first and foremost. They want to win races, not look pretty. The Honda Gayblade isn't gonna cut it and the Gixxer is just old news and getting older, the Yamaha will probably be the only competition for the Kawi, but still the first loser.

Well fortunately there are people out there who LOVE the looks of the ZX10 this year... there are also those that LOVE the looks of the Blade... so its all fair

Let's hope you're right Kawabunga. Styling aside, I was a little perplexed by Kawasaki's chosen layout and geometry of the bike. Rake, trail, wheelbase all point towards a much racier and sharper focused CBR while the 10R rides on a comparatively stretched out wheelbase.

yes many critics have noted the "stretched" wheelbase on the new 10.

08Blade... Bar Steve, do you really think that guys on this ZX10 forum will admit to the Blade being a better bike?
Give me 1 reason that the Blade is better...
if you say suspension I'll just say ZX10 has as good if not better suspension (thanks in part to an excellent chassis and swingarm)
if you say brakes, the answer will be the same (and I won't be wrong)
if you say engine I'll laugh at you...and I"m not talking maximum HP figures here... everything about this engine is better... perhaps the Blade is better behaved... but then what kind of a sissy wants a tame bike?
ZX10's have always been for advanced users... can't help it Blades are for beginners
ps, theres a reason the 10 has ignition control... its an agro bike. Blade's don't need that... they're good all round bikes... in fact if you put off road tires on I'm sure you could take it off road too, and it would be pretty decent at it... :P

Exactly..The Kawasaki I have (and mind you it's just an 04) has me grining to this day..awesome power and engine....the other liter bikes of the day ( except maybe suzuki ) were lame to me...for lack of power to weight ratio or weaker midrange... or lack of balls....that is the main reason I bought my ZX-10R... ..and would again in a heartbeat...I say let the honda guys but what thery want.. who cares..  l.... whats their point anyways??
this year Kawasaki has stepped up again...why entertain someones elses problems with it...? it delivers.. we know...and it produces more grins....street and track...
I answer to me...not to a honda jerk that comes here to stir trouble due to his childhood baby ego...........: glad we have the ignore button..saves us from tolerating chicken sh#t trolls...
like get a life ... or a ZX-10R...

Well, I listened to the 3 vids & I would have to say that the sharpest handling, fastest, most powerful, best braking 1000 would be my pick for the 1 to own! Congrats to the ZX10R! Sorry, I couldn't read thru all 3 pages of puke from Stevewfl & his Troll Babies. Just wanted to post my congrats to the ZX10R crowd!

I say it as I see it.
If the honda is pumping out those numbers I am extremely impressed... especially for a Honda, with a pipe it would have as good a top end pull as the Kawi.... "IF" is the thing.
