So, finally honda managed to get closer to the weight of 4year old kawasaki? And still did not manage to achieve low-weight numbers of 954RR ? Damn...what is so special about that lightness? Probably nothing

On Laguna you can do wheelies in third or fourth, with any bike. Lets see those real world dyno numbers, because for now we still see "no monster" and low engine specs just prove that.

We need comparison shootout, "wows" ain't gonna help...sorry

Yeah it does sound like a great bike this year ESPECIALLY compared to previous CBR's.

I don't think I'll be having eat my words tho cos I think a direct shootout between all the 1000's will be the telling tale. Same day, same riders and same place...

Honda have always been good at making bikes that translate into great race bikes... but then again race teams usually win, bikes are secondary.

But I look at this CBR and its a great bike. It also makes me wonder what the heck yamaha and suzuki have to do to beat the 10 and 1000RR!!??!?! Crazy times ahead... crazy times fosho!!!

+1 its a good time to be into sport bikes, and with competition this fierce they're making great bikes at competitive prices.

I'm wondering what brand my next (or 3) will be. the 07 models didn't really matter they were so close (except Honda) that it boiled down to rider skills. some had power others had suspension yada yada yada

its great seeing Honda get back into the game. especially watching those on various forums who suck-up to a single brand!~ The yamaha and gix forums are talking some major major smack!

What's special is that it is 20 lbs. lighter than the fugly '08 ZX10 and 30 lbs. lighter than the slightly less fugly '08 GSXR1000.

YZF, you sure do spend a lot of time on Honda forums talking smack. Did a dude on a Honda steal your woman or what?

Neither the 10R or CBR have unseated the Suzuki as best 1000cc sportbike yet. Have to wait for the comparo's. The 01 GSXR 1000 weighed 437 FULL of fuel and the 04 ZX10R weighed 433 full of fuel so the weight (Honda's) is no major record. It does undercut the current litre bikes though, and they are the one's it will be compared to. The 07/08 GSXR 1000's are VERY powerful, and they lose a ton of weight with an aftermarket 4/1 exhaust system. The 08 10R looks to be very powerful as well with even MORE of that fabulous Kawasaki muscle to flex, so the Honda has it's work cut out for it.

Yep it's another badass sport bike. At this point there isn't a whole lot wrong with any of them. Well nothing that some changed mirrors or big dumb exhaust system removal can't fix. Anyone know if I can get in on a class action suit for that stupid leg burning gsxr1000 exhaust?

Well, I suspected the redesigned R6 would beat the Honda for '08 in the 600 class. But according to an article posted by Sticks in the "Sportbike Zone" forum, it ain't happening. Honda is on top of the 600 class 2 years running.

That 600 CBR is a BAD mother....................and such a great streetbike to boot. On another note............Nicky Hayden was fastest of the three days tests in MototGP.............

Honda is putting it's big foot down..................possibly mashing all comers in the process...................
