back... wow... all I can say is WOW...
Here's the basics... they are giving a CURB weight (wet... fully fueled) of 435lbs
Unbelievable ...
Power is phenomenal... bike is a torque monster... 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear wheelies... very fat midrange...
didn't give a figure (sure KB will be able to help out when he gets his hands on one) but bike is 10HP over last year's model
that's right... 17lbs less, 10hp MORE!
Wow...
I'm beat... hopping in the shower... have tons of info, vids etc to share with all.. please be patient!!

Fish the pics are great but you forgot a shot from directly right behind - the view of the bike the Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki riders on the track will see for '08 :P

alright... back but there's too much to report at this time...
I'll start typing stuff out and keep all of you posted...
basically deal is this... 100% redesign... 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear power wheelies... fat midrange and top end... stoopidly light bike... fairing designed based specifically on the MotoGp bike (front fairing shape etc)... Guy who designed and built this bike designed and built Nicky Hayden's winning GP bike...
This is a serious piece of machinery! It's going to be a very very interesting year in AMA racing!
Oh... did I mention the "power up" kits you can buy from them? They've got it ALL worked out.
*jaw dropped*
Off to bed!!!

front? before we call the redesigned Honda "ugly" and "weird" , lets look at what a competitor did to the front of theirs LMFAO
note the turn silly signals, box style mirrors, and bug-eyed girls eyes headlights! did they forget GREEN paint on the front fender, or was the black a cheap k-mart way of making a universal?

handling? when will it be out to compare handling, suspension, and braking performance with the other redesigned bike for '08?
dyno sheet for the straight line crowd, I see "17 poundswlighter and 10 more HP", any sheets with the HP and torque curves? (and not some BS happy dyno fake numbers?)
traction control work great, or is it "gimmicky" such as whats been said about Kawi's???

no dyno #'s or charts were given... Honda felt that since dynos very so much depending on the dyno and the operator that they would rather let the magazines and the public dyno the bike themselves... they were adamant about releasing "real world" numbers and hope the industry follows suit which is why they've made the bold move of actually issuing a "curb" weight (or "wet weight") - we all know that no one ever tells us this figure for a bike...
for the straight line crowd the bike is fast but will require thought to make the engine larger as cylinder head was made even smaller by removing sleeves and instead coating head... to overbore would require sleeves or head swap...
re: traction control... Honda tells me it's not "traction control" and none of us could quite figure out exactly how it worked.. there was some controversy over the explanation of it, however the cheif designer told us that it was simply a digital system to reduce driveline lash...
I'll have to dig way deeper into this feature to truly understand it...

Damn Steve! The front of that 10 is ugly. Thanks for letting me see that. I made up my mind. The Honda looks much better. So does the K8 and R1.
