I rode 90 miles on a demonstrator prior to the launch here in the UK. The bike is a one-off, it's not like anything else. The engine is really punchy and it launches like a drag bike, quicker than the 1098 from which the engine is derived. The handling is not quite sports bike but actually ok considering the length of it and the width of the rear tire and unlike many cruiser-type bikes there's enough ground clearance for spirited cornering. The Diavel looks cool too and it gets my vote.

...the tail section looks like a suzuki sv, yes?....so, NO, it HAS been seen before....and the front end looks generic 1/4 bikini-type "fairing" from the '70s, yes?...so, again, NO, it HAS been seen before...hey when you're an old-fart like me, you tend to have seen alot, yes?...and....what has been seen cannot be unseen....overall, I like the Diavel's execution...but its been "seen" before....it looks like an evolved Monster...

I test rode one recently at a Cycle World Riding Experience. The motor was great, the brakes fantastic, the suspension good, but everything other than those three things was less than impressive, to be kind. The thing handles like a log truck with the bars having to be rowed like a tiller at anything less than 35 mph, mostly due to the overly large rear tire trying to steer the front. The seat was small and confining, sort of like being stuffed ass-first into a trash can. And I know styling and looks are subjective, but it looks like a pregnant guppy to me. It felt 50 lbs heavier than my Zx-14 rather than the 50 lbs lighter they claim. It may impress the cruiser crowd with it's "sportbike" handling, but the ride was just plain ugly.
