Hi there .... new to the site!
Just taken delivery of my 1098. Only done 80 miles but its awesome .... everything I expected and more. Rides well twos up and I feel like a celeb at the local bikers cafe with all the admiring glances.... at the bike that is - not me!

Had a quick question...can you comment on the ergonomics of the 1098â¦I am trying to decide if I want to trade in my 999 for the 1098â¦I love the way I fit on the 999 thoughâ¦just wondering your size etcâ¦I am 6â3â, 230 with a 32â in-seamâ¦any information would be greatly appreciatedâ¦thanks

No worries...I'm 6'2" tall and 15 stone! Previously had 748 and Im finding the 1098 much more comfortable.Only early days but the handling seems brilliant.
Only downside I ve found is that the mirrors provide a cracking view of my elbows!! (like 748)

straight up.... how is it on your nuts? My first Duc did a real number on them... excrutiating pain that made me wonder if the Italian boys had anything down there, or perhaps they were flat like a Barbie doll and it made no difference...

Thanks for the feedback Wild... Now I can't wait to see it in person... my 2005 999 is my first Duc, and I love it...guess i should have waited for the 1098, but as most like most people on this forum I want what I want when I want it lol... my local dealer is getting one in this week and my fear is I'll see it in person and end up buying it... BRILLIANT anyway thanks again for the feedback

I posted on another link about seeing my S model last nite for the first time. It's their only model which will be on display until Saturday afternoon when I take it home. I'd only seen pictures, but the actual bike is stunning in the flesh. The few people they let in the back to oggle it didn't say much but like myself, had the stupid grin of a 11 year old at Christmas as they crouched around emjoying the eye candy. They are Beautiful.

OK, that drama is done. My 1098S is in my garage as we speak! reflectors and stickers are off ( about 15 minutes). It's really pretty. If I have to nitpick I gotta' say that the potmetal shield fot the exhaust "Exup" ( or whatever Ducati calls it) looks way out of place. I'm sure the aftermaket will come up with an $$$ little cool bit to dress it up.
Raining here, so I'm hoping for a little break to dry the roads at some point soon. Probaly won't be on here much anymore. I'd much rather engage my motorbikes than my mouth on a website pontificating and blathering about MY opinion about what I think...... Who cares?
If you're on the roads in my area maybe we'll have a chance meeting. All the best to you new Duc owners, have a BLAST!!
