Advice needed
Hello all,
Here is my dilemma, I currently own a 2009 ZX14 I bought as a left over in 2010. The only things I have done to it are a two brother’s full exhaust and a power commander V. I recently have the opportunity to buy a 2014 ZX14 and use my current bike as part of the down payment. Now, I love my ZX14 it has 11,000 miles on it, is any benefit for me to trade up to the newer version, I’m on the fence whether I should keep my paid off bike or trade it in for the new model. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

zx12mark,
I see you’re a rock drummer, I miss playing. I guess there is no point to keeping the older model when there is better version available.

Definitely get rid of the old one as long as your not strapped for cash or putting yourself into financial hardship. The new one is just awesome..... More power, smooth, tc and IMHO handles a lot better.

I owned a 2006 and now have a 2012. The new one is better at everything. The electronics are flawless and the power is unbelievable. Best bet is to take a 2012 or newer one out for a ride.

Thanks for all the replies, I have a 2014 on order and I’m dropping off my 14 to the dealer on Monday. I should have my new bike in a week or so.

zx12mark, do you play full time, back in the day my goal was to be a session drummer, but caught the LE bug. So now I beat on bad guys.

Well I dropped off my 09 zx14 off at the dealer today, I’m a bit sad to see her leave, she is an awesome running motorcycle. I wanted to keep her but couldn’t afford the new one without trading her in. So now I just have wait to hear from the dealer when the new one arrives.

1badzx12r, Unfortunately, they gave me seven for it, she was in perfect shape and had low miles on her.

Not too bad of a trade in, I've seen '06's going for $4-5k lately.
