2008 ZX14 wont start....
Quick list about the bike.
2008 7000 miles
All stock when I bought it, save for a TRE.Bike ran awesome....
I ve had the bike in the winter months now in my heated shop ( I only bought it a few months ago around Dec time, so I haven't ridden it on the street yet ). I added a Muzzy full exhaust system. Bike ran great. I removed the flies.....bike ran great. I installed a new Shorai Battery..... bike ran great. I added a PCV... bike ran great, had slight backfire just before rev limiter or right around there (in neutral). I plugged the pair valve to the air box and plugged the hose..... bike ran great. Now day after I just installed the PCV, I installed all the remaining body panels, bike wont start. I had all the side panels off, the tank tilted back etc. Nothing crazy. I bolt all the panels on and the bike now won't start, and it will occasionally back fire through the exhaust. It turns over fine, I can hear the fuel pump. Now after trying to start the bike several times the battery is dying. I am actually bummed because this Shorai battery is supposed to be awesome. But maybe an hour tops of cranking and its almost dead? I will throw my other battery in and charge it up since I don't have a charger for the Shorai battery. I checked my ground on the PCV, it seemed ok. But to be sure I pulled the PCV off and it still wont start. I don't have any info on the TRE , but I can see where it is plugged in at, so I might disconnect that and see what happens. I am also going to check the plugs, and see if I have spark, but I would assume I have spark if I get a flame out the back of my exhaust when it backfires lol.
I have read about the tilt sensor under the windscreen. After I exhaust some options I ll check that out. I also checked the fuses, though I am going to check them again and pull all the fuses and reinstall them. I don't know why, just to satisfy my weird thought. No corrosion can be found. I cleaned the ground anyways, there was a little paint on the frame still. But there was PLENTY of bare metal exposed, now its 100% bare metal there.
No codes thrown, no FI light. I just removed the TRE and my battery is almost dead, I tried my spare battery ( lead ) and it is dead. I put the lead battery on the charger and will see what happens shortly.
With the last of the power out of the Shorai battery with the tre removed, ground cleaned, fuses pulled and reinstalled, I get nothing still. Now the Temp gauage I notice is going from cold to hot to cold to hot etc. I am not sure if that is because the battery is almost dead or what. But I don't recall that happening.
Is it possible that I hit something when I was putting the body panels back on? Temp wire or shorted it against something?
I ve read as much as I could but none of the answers the other people have gotten have helped me yet.
Any help is appreciated.
Todd

1st look to see if you put the wires on the plugs that the tre was installed on match each other ..like the green wire connects to green and the black and yellow connects to black and yellow and so on with the 3 wire plug.
2nd buy a good battery the shorai have their own chargers and regular charger destroys them

I figured it out.
Prior to installing the PCV, the bike was running rich. Well it must have been coincidence that right after I installed the PCV, it died ( the next day ).
I pulled the spark plugs, cleaned them and reinstalled them ( no one locally had plugs ) to atleast see if it would fire up. Runs like a top again.
