I would strongly suggest neither until you can figure out how to get your bike started after it runs out of gas.....

There is a guy that frequents the board every so often named RACE4IT (Bergie). Years ago he came at me a little sideways I thought and said I should forget about the nitrous and just race on motor.
Fast forward years later. Here I am reading your post.
You say you are new to drag racing. Harnessing a 9 second vehicle isn't exactly a walk in the park, just because the vehicles will do them easily.
Introduce either power adder and your learning curve will be steeper. You will be the chump at the strip running high ETs and high MPH and every stocker will be chomping at the bit to line up with you and look good.
Wheelie management
Wheelspin
Clutch hand
Shift points
ACTUALLY GOING WFO
Gearing
etc etc etc
Get those down first is my suggestion. If you can run some consistent low/mid 9s my personal suggestion (based on my limited experience and costs) would be a small dry shot. A small dry nitrous shot is cheap and setup safely gives you nice gains for low cost. The cost of entry to play in the turbo world costs a bit more, I'm sure you've found that out just googling around.

Give it a season, when its time to change clutches consider a small dry shot.
A lil 30 or 40 shot will pick you up a bit at the strip. But if you are fighting wheelies, inconsistent, etc all you'll see is mph go up but not the ET gains you had hoped for.
Sounds SO easy...until its time to go do it!

I like a turbo because it's there all the time, every day in every situation. But that fact can be a downfall too if you're not completely familiar with the bike yet. A turbo is a lot of money up front but if you want more power down the road it's a simple matter to explore the limits of the bottom end of the engine (or head gasket first hopefully) when your experience with the bike dictates. I want another clean turbo ZX14 myself to go along with the Turbo Busa.
