today on Facebook...gtboard.com questioned why I told them they should be racing an UNRESTRICTED ZX14R against the Bugati and the Koenigsegg, instead of a S100RR Bimmer....to quote them "GTBOARD.com Its alot slower than thr S1000RR so why?".

I posted your video as an example...I hope this is a true 'typical' example!! LOL!!

S1000RR what???!! LOL

Yup, I "envy" you for having that Bimmer for lunch...after all these years, 50+, I still love to chase down a good old fashioned street race. It's true, what a rush, there are just some things in life that get my heart pounding, and that would have been another one!

I've read a lot of threads on here about the 14R vs. S1000rr and a lot of the BMW fans say, "give the BMW 400cc more and it would crush the 14R. I would argue that it would actually hamper the BMW. To make power the 1000cc bikes need revs. The higher you can rev the more potential for peak horsepower. Add a long stroke to the BMW and its revs are cut considerably. What kind of HP does the BMW make at the 14R's peak HP RPM? I guarantee the numbers are not even close. Imagine if you could rev the 14R to 14K rpm. You would be looking at over 250 whp if the rods wouldn't fly off the crank.

What would it take for a 1441cc motor to rev that high? I come from the Import turbo drag world and we take our 2.0l Mitsubishi motors to about 11K rpm. Stock rev limiter is 7500rpm. To do this we use cams so it can breath up there, heavy duty springs and Titanium retainers. Aluminum rods help but are not completely necessary. I'm sure the rod ratio is probably more square than the 14R's ratio. What would it take to build a 1441 that revs? here is an Example of an 11Krpm 2.0l

An 89mm bore and a 57.9mm stroke will yield 1441cc engine. You can probably get this engine to rev to 12,000 safely. Anything over 4500 fpm can be too much mechanically.
