weight loss

What's the best way to shed some pounds off my zx14. I like all my brakes and I have zx10 wheels...

Start with a lightweight battery:

https://www.brocksperformance.com/Pulse-3-Series-Battery+I120039+C50.aspx

9 pounds, right off the bat. Look at my big thread for more data:

http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=27&TID=40269&set_time=

Basically, if you do your homework, and spend money in the right places, under 500 lbs fully outfitted, full of fluids, is very possible.

That battery cost enough to shave a tenth from yer wallet.

I'll get one when my current batt dies.

I lost over 60 lbs this last year. Yes, I was super fat.. now I am only mostly fat... Went from 295 to around 230 @ 5' 11". I got as low as 225.. been struggling to get more off these last few months. Need to buckle down better. My goal is about 180ish.

Anyway, the body weight alone was good for about .3 ET this season. The improvement in my body position and general improved health and well being helped me get my 60s down. At my previous size I was uncomfortable and that made everything I did hard, not just riding. I was also able to trick the bike out of a few more pounds here & there. After all was said and done, I improved my ET by over .5 this season on my best runs compared to last year and the MPH was up over 6.

For sure take shedding weight off the bike as serious as you can afford to, both in money and sacrificing street-ability. You have to decide where that line is based on your needs. But I'd say to anyone that has some body weight to give.. do it! The best mod I have done so far. Plus I feel better than I have in 15 years.

Now here's to 50 more pounds gone by this time next year!

Congrats on the weight loss! I've been working on that myself. I have found the key to weight loss. It's really only two simple little things, neither of which is expensive. It's bending and stretching! That's right, just those two simple little things can take off all the weight you want and it's up to you how fast you do it. All it takes is less "bending" of the elbow and more "stretching" of the muscles! LOL I never said that it wasn't gonna hurt!

No offense guys, however to get a 2013 ZX-14R (like mine) under 500lbs wet, you'd need to spend some serious dough and loose the bodywork and just about everything else not related to ignition, air intake, fueling and compression!!!......We spent many hrs putting this baby on a diet and lots of sponsor's money on everything aftermarket, I mean everything! 70lbs lighter the big Kawi still weighed in at 530lbs without our bags and juice system in place and 550lbs loaded up with it.....This bike weighed 600lbs wet.

I think his point is...

Looking at the photo of your bike, I can see it is heavy. The BST wheels are the best thing going for it, weight-wise...that, and of course if you have a light battery. Otherwise, big and heavy. And it isn't 70 lbs lighter than stock, even without bags, based on that picture.

That is not meant to offend, but it is fact.
