06 ZX14 engine seized

Bought 06 Zx14 brand new has just under 40000 miles always service at same dealer here in Massachusetts greater boston motorsports and actually stored bike for winter with them. 4 weeks ago was riding home doing 80mph in 3rd gear and motor seized, only put 700 miles on it since taking it out of winter storage. Have had all service done on time. Any suggestions on what the dealership should offer me or do for me?
the only solace is I am really busy with work so I dont have time to ride right now.
Any advice I wwwould love to hear
Thanks

I'm guessing they are going to dance around this and possibly offer nothing. 1st would be to determine why it seized, then determine if it had anything to do with the maintenance that was provided. Then maybe they could leverage kawasaki to eat part of it. I'm sure they are not going to find anything that points to the service they did. I could be completely wrong, i wish you luck.

Buy as is or warrenty? If you did not get a warrenty on a 7 year old bike, then you are screwed. Why would a person trust any purchase that is used and not perform their own maintenance before using?
I know this is a bit late but trust no one! If it's new, you have a case. If not and no extended aggreement, you are screwed! No matter what vehicle I buy used(not many), I always changed oil, brakes, spark plugs, and air filter to start.

Only Trust yourself!

You don't have much of a leg to stand on buddy.
The only way you would have a case is if it were brand new with zero mods done to the bike.
It's not their fault the motor seized, they just kept it over the winter...

I think you guys may have read his post wrong.

He says he bought it brand new, had all of the maintenance done on time, by the dealer, and stored it with them over the winter. I still don't think the dealer will do anything, but it's not like he bought the bike with 40k on the clock and is crying about it.

He has a legitimate gripe considering he has all the service records by the dealer. It doesn't sound like he has a lot of mods or anything either.

However the warranty would have long expired by now.

Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't expect the dealer to do anything if I'm understanding the circumstances right. If I had a 7 year old bike with just under 40,000 that locked up I'd be thanking the dealer and Kawasaki for building such an awesome bike that took what I gave it for so long. But that's just me I guess. Or am I missing something here???

I'm sorry but I would expect just about any bike today to last beyond 40K street miles as long as it was maintained. His certainly was and unlike a lot of us the dealer did all the work. If it was raced that would a different story. I've now read several posts about severe engine failures. This is disturbing at least. I ride street but I beat the shit out of the bike when I ride it. I will be deeply disappointed if the engine fails around 40K miles.

That sucks, but after the warranty is up your SOL...... Not much you can do aside from getting it fixed or selling it as is. Either way, it probably does not make sense to dump a lot of cash into it considering its probably worth 5Kish working. I am not trying to insult you, but either build it into a beast, dump it, to fix & sell it. If your dealer is willing to help you out and fix it at a reduced price, I would jump on it, then sell it while you can get top dollar in the summer..., waiting will just decrease the value. I wish you luck.

Expect to engine to last that long. Yes. Expect the dealer to do something for me if it didn't? Just not the world we live in. Sorry.
