speed sensor help asap!!!
Hey guys I only drag race so I'm not worried about street riding. I'm making my gearing 16/45 tonight and guy said my speedo will be off and make my bike hit the speed limiter. I don't want to grind down the nut and I don't have time to install a sleedo healer tonight.
Can I just unplug my sensor??
Could I just put a piece of tape over it so it doesn't read anything?
Do I even have to worry about it??

A new sprocket nut will not cost you much at all. Might be a little tough removing the old one .
I had my Speedo healer short out on me once (from washing the bike). It plugs inline with the speed sensor lead connectors. The speedo went berzerk and I think that sent the bike into limp mode ...so my educated guess is you will have as more trouble DIY hacking your speed sensor than you would just installing a SHv4. It really is not hard at all. Lots easier than grinding the nut corners. ...as long as you can get your hands on a SH, should not take longer than 45 minutes to install. It is NOTHING like the nightmare of installing a PowerCommander.

I can't say adding a pc work BUT
I say that adding a multi-hub and downloading the firmware is a chore . I've got into a habit of letting the DJ techs do it with live help . then when it takes them several times to get the firmware to take i'm glad I let them do it ..

Getting hands in there on the main wiring connectors. Getting the plugs apart. Lots of people have a heck of a time with that. The rest is not bad. A SH is just grab the 2 wires and click together. stick the SH somewhere dry. Follow directions to test and set speedo to -50% to disable TSL.

Anyone try just taking the sensor out of the sprocket cover? I didn't have any problems with a 45 tooth sprocket but I might be going to a 47 in the future for a better 60'.

I heard about this done in 2006 on a bike that was being top-speed tested for a magazine, before the Speedo Healer or reflash was available. From what I remember It works for one run and then you get a warning light on the dash. I can't remember if the ecu goes into a fault mode but you then have to plug the sensor back in and recycle the ignition to re-set everything back to normal.

Awesome! So I guess taping over the sensor would be the same thing then as pulling it out.

No, you can't tape it over on the 2006 - 2011 ZX-14R, it a magnetic head which detects the corners on the countershaft nut. Just follow the lead away from the sprocket cover to the connector a few inches up and unplug it.
