FS NY/CT: 2009 ZX14 Monster Energy Edition

I am selling my 2009 Kawasaki ZX14 Monster Energy Edition with 3,500 miles in Hopewell Jct/Dutchess County, NY area. I am the original owner of the bike and I am selling it because I don't have the time to ride anymore. The bike was barely used, never dropped and always garage kept. The bike has a full 4-2-1 Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Exhaust, K&N Filter and a DynoJet Power Commander 5, which was professionally dyno tuned by Dyno Solutions in Brookfield, Connecticut. The bike also has a carbon fiber pro grip tank pad and Muzzy's fender eliminator. The bike is mint and was maintained regularly with oil changes every 1,000 miles. The bike has Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires on it with good tread life left. Also, I do have the stock parts for the bike and a new in the box Scotts Steering Damper ($500 value). This bike is very fast but can idle around town as smooth as any cruiser. The bike is big in size but handles extremely well and feels very light when you are riding. The exhaust has a nice sound and is not overly loud. I do not want to sell the bike but would like to see someone else get more use out of the bike then I have. I am asking $9,900 OBO. (NADA value is $11,631) Email me at kdoughty21@gmail.com and ask for Kyle. (Serious buyers only please but price is definitely negotiable)

I like the monster one... But sounds like your going to need to lower the price a bit for a quick sale.

I just posted in the classifieds and I'm selling the damper separately. NADA says value is $10,700 and KBB says it's $8100. But they both say with average miles which is 13k according to KBB. So the price is definitely fair. I'd definitely take $8500 for the bike.

You guys tell me what you think is a fair reasonable price? I just gave you the values with 13,000 miles. You can double check it as well.

I bought a new Monster Edition ZX14 from leftover stock in January of 2011. I'll post what it sold for if the OP wants me to. Those "retail value" books sometimes inflate the "value" of bikes 20-30%. Not saying this is the case with your bike but it happens a lot.

Just to mention I'm the lowest 2009 in 400 miles of my address on cycle trader. And I have a quarter of the miles of the rest.

That's NC pricing at its finest. I'm in NY and do you know the dealer or something? Well I'll ask you if you we're selling your bike what would you ask and expect to get?

Yes, the dealer is one of my best friends. That was supposedly "cost" after all the rebates that were being offered at the time. The rebates were substantial and help reduce the cost greatly. Just remember you can pick up a leftover 2012 like I did my 2009 for 11,500 now. I've modified my bike quite a bit spending thousands on it making it more competitive at the track. In all I'd guess I've got close to as much into it as I originally paid for it. Around here I would not expect to get more than $7500-8000 for it if I was to sell it. It's run 5.51 @ 131 MPH and still drives around like a completely stock bike. Also, for reference, I bought a turbo ZX14 from a gentleman on here that was well sorted out and hopefully will scare a 4 to death in the 1/8th mile when we hit the track this year. I paid $7500 for that bike. $500 to ship it here. $1200 more for a fancy Hays convertible clutch. Jut use these as a point of reference. You bike is worth as much as (but only as much as) a buyer is willing to give you for it. Good luck with the sale. It's surely a fine example of the breed.
