What's it worth? '06 14, Carrozzeria Wheels, Evil arm, sub 1k miles
So I am finishing up what has been my winter project and I am curious as to what you guys think it would be worth. I am debating upgrading to a left over 2012 or maybe a 2013 with a couple hundred miles on it. My bike is a 2006 ZX-14. It has 680 miles on it, Carrozzeria V-track wheels ($2k themselves), an Evil Arms 6" over swingarm. Underbraced and flat black, MTC lockup clutch with their big case, Full HID's, Area P carbon duals with 2.5" cores, PC3-USB and lots of other small bits and pieces. Bike itself is in great shape. Couple small nicks/scrapes here and there from riding in a trailer but I will most likely replace them with OEM fairings.
What do you guys think it's worth? Probably the lowest mile Gen1 within hundreds of miles of me and it's got tons of nice parts on it. If I couldn't get 10k I wouldn't sell it. Is it worth more?

$6,000 and sell the wheels separate.
If you got to have $10,000 your not going to sell it.

In my area there are stock ones with 20k going for $6000 all day. I'm not going to part it out so I guess I'll just keep it. There's no way a bike with 700 miles on it is only worth 6k.

Keep the 06 and ride it (bike sounds sweet), and get a 14r down the road to add to your stable. Got any pics of the 06?

The bike is 8 years old. With the 2012-up being a lot better, it makes out bikes value decrease. I have a 08 and I doubt it's worth much more.

I am in Nebraska. I understand it's 8 years old but it's no different than a 2011. Figured the stupid low mileage would help the value. I still think it's worth more than you guys do but I am pretty biased. Guess she'll just be mine forever then.

It's not a drag bike. It is 100% as comfortable and streetable right now as it was when it rolled off the show room floor.

A big thing that would make me leary of it in general is the #3 rod bearing failure being most common on the 06's. With that few of miles on it, it could be just around the corner.

NADA book is high retail of $7700. Not necessarily street value. Unless you find a buyer tha has your taste in mods, you'd be better off selling the parts and bike seperately.

Good info. It always sucks when someone tells you that your baby isn't worth the hard earned dollars and hours of labor you've got into her. Oh well!

Haven't updated my sig in a while. I ditched the drag pipe in favor or a set of carbon duals.

You should ride it to get value out of the time & money spent. Vehicles rarely, if ever, yield monetary dividends. Keep one in a crate for 50 years and you might make some $, but for now, go cash in on the thrill factor, cuz that's the only way the bike can pay you back for what you have "invested".

I've got a few bikes. I didn't expect this one to be worth gold and I didn't have any intentions of selling it until I saw zero mile 2012 14r's are going for $11.5 all over the place. I enjoy the build but I can wait a couple years.

No way your going to get 10K, no offense intended. Anyone with half a brain is going to know this thing was beaten to hell at the track and avoid it, not to mention many of the 06 motors came apart.... Unless you find the proverbial ass ( there is an ass for every seat). You might be able to get 7-8 on the high side, I understand its your baby but unfortunately it will take someone like yourself who knows how much time, effort and money has been dumped in..... Regardless it's a 7 year old bike unfortunately. Best of luck to you! Try the free listing places first, it's amazing how much eBay gets these days.... 10-18%

10k will come very close to buying a 2012 that will run circles around your zx14
I understand you don't like "our" opinion, but it's "us" that is going to buy it from you.

ive learned miles on a bike dont effect the value. any dealer will rape you on trade in. but they use NADA book value. if you check their website they never ask for bike mileage therefore a bike with 3 miles is worth the same as a bike with 30k miles. street value no where near 10k. everything you put on the bike Lowers the value in my eyes. buying a custom bike is like buying someones JUNK. youll never get what you put into it out of it. and im sorry but no wheels in my eyes are worth 2k. sorry. good luck selling it.

your bike is 7 years old and isnt even broken in yet? so therefore its sat for 7 years. i dont know you from the man in the moon but someone who dumps thousands in a bike to just sit for years prob. has stupid money and just wants a trailer show bike or they thought they were sitting on gold and found out its a pile of dirt and looked for some insight from the forums. im sorry but if you seriously think your going to get out what you put in the bike your insane or you need to find an idiot to buy it

I bought the bike in December. I didn't think I was sitting on a pile of gold. There aren't many 14's in my area so it's rare to see one for sale. That's why I asked what the more knowledgeable members of this forum what it was worth. I have been around the block a time or two bud.
I never said anything about trading it in to a dealer. Do you think a private party buying a bike is going to spend the same on a 30k mile bike as a sub 1000 mile bike? I asked my question and got my answer. This thread is done.
