520 pitch Rear Sprocket 530 Chain
I have been running a 520 pitch rear sprocket on a Marchesini rear wheel with a stock front sprocket and 530 chain. The rear sprocket is getting some sharp teeth so I want to replace it. The chain is still within specs for stretch. I've heard that the chain should be replaced with a new sprocket.
Any truth to that rumor?
I plan on replacing the rear sprocket with a 530 pitch.
Is there any reason to replace both sprockets if the front is still in good shape?
What kind of longevity can I expect from a 520 set up on the street?
Any help is appreciated.

How many miles you have on the set up.If you run it hard even the correct setup is shot around 15 - 20 k miles. And thats keeping it lubed all the time.

Why run a 520 on the street?
Change both sprockets with chain.

I bought a set of Marchesini wheels that were advertised as having 2400 miles on them. The 520 sprocket was on the rear wheel and I ran about another 2500 miles.
I think you're right about replacing both sprockets and chain. Might as well do it right with a 530 set up.
Thanks.
