Gettin the Blue Screamin Meany ready for the drag race season
This is the red spare wheel I use to drag race on my zx12r. I used my vernier calipers to measure all the pertinent clearances of the standard rear wheel on the new zx14r. Even though the bikes are 12 years apart they matched up great.That ring with the slots is the rear wheel speed sensor for the traction control of the new 14r. .Who needs traction control. O yeah I turn it on when I get caught in the rain.Anyway I had to be able to figure out how to make that ring fit on the old wheel.That damn ring is 55 bucks shipped so I had to do it right the first time. The ring does`nt look pretty but it will do the job.It`s just for drag racing so who cares right. Now I have to order one to put back on the the wheel I took it off of. So to finish this mod I have to paint the red spokes black,polish the bare aluminum and then put a new sticky drag tire on it.
My mission is 8.9 seconds at close to 160 mph in the 1/4 mile.Gateway is making me get a NHRA licence`s.200 bucks for 2 years.It`s a rip off.

NHRA IS a RIPOFF with all there BS & $$$ every couple years just because you may T&T at a NHRA track....

I have been motorcycle drag racing at the same location for 40 years.So the change hands a fuck up test and tune guys.I go a couple of times a year.

baytown did the same thing a few years ago and the racing crowd left could make 30 passes in a night .. they threw the rule book away last year and the racing crowd is back.. lucky to get 3 passes all night.. but the differance is theres was 6 more tracks in a 80 mile drive

Your lucky to have so many tracks.Gateway is about 25 miles from my house.I just ride there.It is an a+ facility.It also has a nascar track and a road race track.It`s a big place.I was told they have to have 100 paid drag entry `s just to break even on ovehead for a day.

Same as Baytown .. But Baytown had an ozfest concert TOO .. But they was going broke following the NHRA rule book . them National events just wasn't enough to carry it all year .. And I'M sure they will 1 day go back to the book and fukk it all up again . i don't race there anyways maybe once in a year to a special event or so

NHRA License just to test and tune. I think its so ridiculous. I am going to have to do the same thing. Indy is so freakin strict being the NHRA Corporate HQ. You can all the proper gear and still not be able to run because you don't have a bogus license. Its just another money grab for the NHRA and the track.
They definitely lose the casual test n tuner because of all the BS rules. I mean stock 600cc's run over 120 mph in the 1/4, which requires you to have full leathers.....rules are already strict enough.

Yep..........I`m just gonna go over on a test and tune wednesday and run as quick as I can till they kick me out then just go over on the midnight madness bullshit when you can blast as fast as you can.I just do this for fun for the last 40 years...........

Us13 dragway in Delmar is the same way, I understand why they make u get them as for expense on hospital bill if u mess up but I feel as though the 9 sec license should be changed to 8, stock bike (except for me lol) will go in the 9's u can't even run ur stock bike at a track unless u dial in 10.00 , go faster n get kicked off, I'll go this weekend n try an all out pass then I'm sure it'll b 20.00 rest of evening, I spun 1rst n 2nd last week n then track shutdown for sleet, I got a rain check so we'll c if he let's me slide on a pass or 2

Sleet what the fuck,I say what the fuck you doin boy.........anyway I went out today to test my zx12r rear wheel conversion to my 14r and no problems except I crack the throttle at 4 grand in 1st gear with the worn out u soft lighting up so fast i push the button for second gear and the tach slammed over like I was riding in the rain.I went home spinning from every stop.On purpose of coarse.
