Brakes acting retarded!!
So I swapped out my front tire the other day and my son squeezed the front brake lever. I separated the brake shoes maybe a 1/8 of an inch with a flat head screwdriver so it could clear the front rotor. I've bled the brakes four times already and they seem to be firm and working until I roll the bike a few feet then they go out again. Any help would be appreciated!

You sir, know EXACTLY what you're talking about! I put it up on stands and that was the issue. Thanks for your feedback!

No problem. To be fair though.. I chased that exact issue for a few days on a friend's 14 we picked up wrecked for a rebuild... so it wasn't an instant thing the first time I had to deal with it.

I know the early model ZX14's had problems with the rotors, what about the later model ones??

This is my first Kaw, all of my other bikes were Hondas so I couldn't specify if the later models have any issues. Im sure theres a forum that covers what you're looking for.

I think they are the same rotors from 2006 to 2011. Kawasaki claims to have improved the metal alloy for the 2012+.. reducing the common warping of the rotors. I believe the rotors are interchangeable... but I can't say for certain because I have not looked close enough at both yet. I know the 2012+ has speed sensor trigger rings.. so those will have to moved or removed.
Here is what Kawasaki has printed about the 2013 and presumably it's a reprint of the 2012 specs:
"New disc material and pads improve the 14R’s radial-mount braking system"
