It will feel like a real torquey cadillac compared to your ZX10 and your back will thank you. Welcome aboard.

Really glad to hear that. Loved carving corners on the 10 but it made for a long day.

What you can expect depends on how the bike is setup. Stock is quiet, smooth, with plenty of power but also heavy. From there you can fine tune it for your tastes.

And at 5'9" you're going to have lots of room. I'm really big and still have room on my 14. It's going to have a really nice surge of power in the midrange compared to what you're used to also.

Well guys I'm leaving tonight to get the bike! Ended up getting a 09 monster energy. It has a voodo exhaust and pc 5 some neons also. I have some many ?s. I know it won't corner like my ten but by how much? What would lowering it do to handling? I want to make the bike as easy as it can be to handle it with out loosing any maneuvering. Is that possible? Wondering how the extra weight is going to affect me in the twisties

What year was ur 10? The 04/05 were beasts in their own right n that motor was like a caged bull, to me I think you'll feel more pull down low n midrange but those year zx10's were very quick n pulled really well from mid to the upper rpms, if I was under 6' n 180 or so I would've kept the 05 zx10

mentioning lowering and twisties does not even belong in the same paragraph. If you don't know what the effects of lowering a bike is going to do with how it handles in the twisties...uh nevermind.

Good luck.

Settle down there pounder lol. I understand it will take away lean angle but how much and would it make a huge differance considering it is already not the most nible thing to begin with. Is it going to fight me in corner? Andvyes I rode an 05. Not as concered about speed ss I am comfort.

Nice bike. I have an 09 Special Edition. Before I streached my bike I had the front strapped and the roaring toys lowering links in the middle hole, and I had to go slow around exit ramp turns or I would scrape. But I'm alot heaver

will it make a huge difference...well yes. Ground clearance is a big deal and when you run out of it...well, usually bad things happen. If you use the middle hole in a 3 hole link, and pull the forks up in the yokes 1/2"-1"....you can find your limits pretty quickly, especially if you have any weight issues. Or just ride a lot slower and less aggressive.

I have no problem finding hard parts when the bike is in this set up and have to be very mindful of what I'm doing. You do have to slow it down and ride with a different mindset. The 14 is no super sport bike but it does handle very well and can be hustled, but that does go away as it gets lower. Unless you are very short, I'd leave it at stock height for any road riding. To many variables when clearance can come into play.

Best free thing to do is get a repair manual!!!! Most things r doable, clutch, sprockets, oil changes, etc, then pull flies! From my understanding not as much difference as the 06-07, then again u may not want to pull them if ur doing twisties unless u have a smooth throttle hand, personally I like the stronger low to mid pull n curves, seems to pull right through corners but I'm no knee dragger lol
