First test ride ,, It was dark and foggy as hell .. I have to do this at daytime to get a better look at the gauges ... Lighted Gauges are next on my list ...
Looks safe best as i can tell ... Fuel pressure on boost is a about 11 to 12 PSI ... Boost is still to high at about 10 to 11 psi , A/F looks way to safe at 10.0 at full boost .. Safe was what i was looking for ... Now i can tickle it down to 8 pounds of boost , get the A/F you to 11.9 to 12.0 .. I also need to pull about 4 to 5 Deg of timing on boost ...
I'm doing this all on pump 93 octane and can't pust it to much more that 8 PSI .. 8 PSI should get me 170 to 180 HP zone ..

Smokin- that thing is bustin loose right when it hits boost pretty easily. Either a bad tire or just a really cold street- but it sure seems like more the 170 hp. Nice vid- that wideband is pretty nice too.

Yup that shinko Hookup doesn't work all that well on the street .. Plus it was foggy as hell so i'm sure the street has some foggy mist on it ..

It's a blast when the boost kicks in ... I had it at 14 PSI and it was wild !!! In the video it was about 10 PSI and still a kick in the pants ...Got to get it down to 8 psi seeing its on pump gas... I don't want to kill any pistons just yet !!

I assume you're going to try it at the track a few times as well??? That thing looks like it's going to be tricky to make a clean pass on.

Lee,
I bet you you'll be around 190 @ 8psi, torque will be HUGE.
When I took my 14 to the dyno for some tuning I took the ZRX along too, I had a 9 pound spring in the wastegate 'cause I run pump gas. I stuck the ZRX on the dyno and the operator had some left over Q16 so we put a splash in for a safety net.
The bike made 202 and it was leaning out with the oxygenated fuel. It should make 240+ with good fuel and tuning with a 12 pound spring.
Ol' Teddy will be fast, ya might have yer hands full!!!

Yes it will see the track .. And yes it will be hard to ride ( fast ) But it's just for fun anyway ..

Looking at the videos again i saw the boost dropped off on the last hit .. I went down to the shop to have a look and sure as shit it blew the air box off on number 3 and 4 carbs .. Got to fix that !!

I had made some spacers for mine that go between the frame rails and airbox to keep it from doing that. That dudes going to have some hit. You could throw some C16 in the tank with the pump gas to give you a safety net at the track. Put some tall gearing on it to load that turbo up and it is going to run some good numbers. Didn't Highlands Kawasaki run one of those bikes for a while in the shootout class? seems like RG ran one too. Or might have been the same ZRX. went in the 7's in the 1/4 mile.

ZRXDean had one running low 8s years ago .. His was only a ZRX1100 bored to 1080 CC ... Fast bike for sure .. I'm going to build two straps , one on each side from the air box to the frame .. That should hold them in place ..

I'm not sure if that's set up like the one I raced in Houston vs my sprayed 1270 , but it ran 87.0's at 165 then. After that race, it got alot faster. Gilbert Coronado used to ride that bike when it was a "Highlands" deal.. but I remember that bike pretty well.

If I remeber right the highlands ZRX was Fuel injected? and it was green, Seems like they had a old school green ZX11 Turbo that ran pretty well.

I found a pic of the Highlands ZrX turbo. It held the shootout record with some 7.80's for a while. The article said when Highlands purchased the bike from Muzzy they got back home and tried to run the bike and found that Muzzy would not sell the mapping with the bike. said it was secret so they had to start from scratch. You can see it is fuel injected
Snd here was there ZX11 turbo. It did pretty good too. looks to be a C model 92 and earlier.

Kevin (Kcadby) used to post here years ago with his blue turbo ZRX1200. Nice bike and when he worked for a local shop now closed was great tuner and mechanic. I think he is at MPS now.
