Catalyst Seat fit
Got my Catalys seat yesterday. When pushed on to the tank tabs the back of the seat, where the mounting holes are, sticks up about 6 inches. Have to push it down 6 inches to get the bolts in. Doesn't seem right to me. Is this normal for this seat?

Talked to Mike at Catalyst and he said this is normal for the slim design. Should relax after it gets mounted on bike and sits for a while. Also, he said if I'm not happy he will switch it out for a standard design. Stand up guy.

also pay close attention to where the edge of the seat comes in contact with all parts of tank, and body panels. Mine fit very poorly and had to be trimmed to make sure it no longer contacted it. I've seen several guys that did not trim theirs and have big rub spots in their bodywork and tail section.

Thanks QP. I had a little lesson it that area last night-my tank took a few hits but luckily all the other bodywork was off the bike. I need to get my tiger tail installed then I will use extreme caution when doing the final fit on the seat.

Had the same thought just couldn't think of the material. Anyone have any brace ideas besides the one from OSR?

I bent a peice of aluminum for a brace, took a bit of time to get it right but it worked great. I traded my Catalyst for a stock cut one, I now have the whole front cut off so I sit on the tank and the other part houses the air bottle and compressor which fits under the modified cowl.
