6.00" rear rim vs. 6.25" rear rim

I ordered some aftermarket wheels and i went with the 6.25" rear wheel vs the 6.00" wheel. Can anybody tell me the advantages and disadvantages with going with the wider wheel for street riding. Thanks

For street riding, I don't know if you will have any advantages..
It is going to stretch the tire out and make the center contact patch bigger, making the "side" of the tire less for turns.

I could be wrong, but that's what I see. But it's street riding, I don't know if you will know the difference

If you were to fit a 200/55 tyre it would keep a similar profile to stock but give more rubber on the ground at all lean angles which has got to be good !

I thought a wider tyre equals less response and slower steering through corners. A lot of sport bike riders choose a narrower section to improve the handling and reduce unsprung weight. It might give more grip in some situations but a bigger contact patch also means less weight per square inch of tyre so any improvement in grip would be minimal or cancelled out. The profiles of both front and rear would have to be compatible or the handling would be weird. Depends what you're using the bike for whether it gives any advantage.

I guess more Rubber on the ground is a good thing. I went with a 190/55 so maybe the extra profile on the tire will even out with the width.
