Anyone use there PCV for a shift kill ? Can it be done ?

I looked in dyno jets website and can't find anything about it .. Can the PCV be used in place of a MPS or Muzzy kill box .. If so how would you hook it up ? I'd like to keep my ram and c02 set up and ditch the kill box and just use my horn button to shift .. Can my horn wires be wired into the PCV quick shifter input and work ?

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Seems to me that if the PCV will work as a kill for the quick shifter there's got to be a way for it to work with an air shifter.

I'm pretty sure it would be wired just like the PCIII with a couple of relays, you can set it up to auto shift and have it setup where you can have the button as a override

That would be nice if it works, one less thing to buy and mount on the bike.

Having problems with the mps kill box?

I used the PC3 usb for my kil for years. If you can use the quik shifter you it has kill.
Now CAN you use a quik shifter with the PCV?

I would think so, u would have to cut plug off of end of quick shifter though, since the wires go straight to spots on pcv

No need for a quik shifter, use a button in it's place to trigger the kill feature in the PCV
trigger the air side at the same time. I used the horn button on a 3 way switch. horn/shifter

I tried the auto shft box but like the PC3 kill feature better.
It's cleaner and more precise kill compared to the mps.

Well guys i didn't use the P/C for my kill just yet .. Roy did tell me how to do it with a 5 pole relay but since i had a new MPS kill box coming from MPS for free i didn't go onto setting up the P/C as my kill .. I didn't go with the auto shift Box this time around , i just got their standard Kill Box without auto shift .. The box is much much smaller and easier to find a good place to put the box ..Now that i don't have auto shift i had to add a shift light .. This is the same system i used on my last two ZX14s so i'm used to hitting the horn button anyway ..The auto shift was nice when it was working but it didn't work half the time .. The other thing that bugged me is a few times in my burn outs it would auto shift to 2 gear without me even knowing it happened .. It's funny because even taking off in 2 gear the bike would run 8.60 flat everytime it happened .. I will not know how all this works out till Dec 13 when our track opens back up for test and tune .. I hope the new kill box , shift light and new air ram ( old ram was sticking ) all works out .. .. I also found out that some of the first PCV sold for the ZX14R needed a firmware update ..The update was it fix a dropping cylinder problem ..Check your PVC to see if yours needs this update ..Most will not but some of the very early ones like mine may ..You can down load the Update on the dyno jet web site under down loads ..

Plug your puter into your P/C , look under devices and it will have a number , if the number doesn't match the updated number you need the update .. If it's the same number you are good to go..
