Aloha and first question
Just thought I'd properly introduce myself... i recently picked up a 2006 zx14 for $3900 after always wanting one for the past few years. At 6'2 and 230lbs it felt so right the first time I threw a leg over one. I've been riding daily for 13+ years on many different makes and models of bikes and actually pushed a 2010 BMW s1000RR off to the side and opted for the 14 instead. I live in Hawaii and with year round rinding I rack up hard miles quick. Looking forward to gaining knowledge about this beast and sharing any info I may have.
With that intro out of the way I'd like to ask my first question... lol
What is a good recommended sprocket setup for daily riding as well as the occasional trip to the drag strip? I have stock wheelbase and plan on keeping it that way. Thanks

Welcome, when I ran swb on my 06 I liked a 16t on the front, I'm 6'4" 210 pounds, highway speed will still be there with that gearing. Try it and if you don't like it, it won't cost but a few $'s to find out. Drag strip you will need a lowering strap and lowering links or you will stay on the back tire.

As Wheelie said, dropping 1 tooth to a 16 on the front will make a nice difference.
Be sure to get the Kawasaki OEM sprocket # 13144-1317 as it has the rubber damper just like your stock 17 tooth.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Check the classifieds for the links and strap/brackets, there were some good prices there a few days ago.

I've run SWB since I've owned it and I dropped a tooth off the REAR....makes it much easier to control at the dragstrip and it does not hurt on the times.

petro-rr, welcome to the site. You might want to also check to see if it still has the stock secondary flies, pulling them out makes a huge difference in daily street riding, at low RPMs. You think you have a different bike, it may require a power commander.

I want to take the flies out but I can't afford a PC right now . I did the flapper removal on my TL1000s and it had the same effect for the low end. If I didn't have to worry about damage to the motor in my 14 I'd do it in a heartbeat
